The browser won't allow me to add DuckDuckGo's No AI search to the browser; see attached image.

This isn't a question: this is an issue with the Firefox browser that needs to be fixed ASAP.

I use Firefox as my browser and have used Yahoo as my home page and browser for decades. Starting a few days ago, every time I type in the Yahoo search bar I get a Google search page result. I opened Bing and tried to search on their page and got the same result - Google. This is driving me crazy. I want my old Yahoo search back. I am at a loss as to how to fix this. I have looked at the Firefox settings and, of course, Yahoo is no longer listed. A shame. I don't know what to do at this point. Maybe the answer is to get rid of Firefox, but it has worked well for me for a long time. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

As a loyal and long time user of Firefox [since 1998 yes 1998 ,,,] if you or i cant remove google from my browser , i might have to find a replacement, that will allow me to remove this nonsense , i await your response ATB BlackSam

I’m feeling very … filtered by google or safari search engines and haven’t done any research into other search engine options, though I’ve heard other people mention other search engines that are less filtered that I didn’t remember the name of. I hadn’t even really thought of this before but someone recently talked about how all the information is out there on the Internet (which I knew, Duhr 😂) but like a pair of craftily sculpted goggles, each device, OS, search engine simply filters the results I have access to and yet, I still search using Chrome. Wtf? Can you help me? Help me snap out of my bubble?! 😂 I keep falling asleep and forgetting to find a way to be more safe (as I know I’ve been with you on my laptop for yeeears) and also be “allowed” to have access to more info in the big wide world on the Internets? 😜 Do you guys have a search engine? And/or do you guys know the direction to point me in to become a more aware and present human being on the internet who remains safe from all the bs and is also not filtered down into a granule of human pellet feed that they can dissolve into lusch and control, limit, feed off of for profit, leaving me in a vulnerable position to blackmail or destroy? LMAO! 🤣 🥹😳 Really though… I trust Firefox and have used this browser for years. For years now though, I’ve been only on my iPhone and forgot about Firefox until just now because I just “went with this”, brainlessly, on my iPhone and there are certain options one is fed when adopting the iPhone (and Firefox is definitely _not_ one of them!). Would you, could you please expand my horizons, safely with you guys? Or whatever you recommend, please? I’d be so grateful for any pointers, help, info, education that you can offer me! Why is the address bar now a search? This is annoying. How can I change this? I have already change about:config settings to false and nothing changes.

I have just updated Mozilla/Firefox and opted for the VPN option. Mac desktop, MS Tahoe up to date, my nominated browsers are Firefox, Duck Duck Go and Safari.

So when I go to start my first search, why am I offered a window to type in my query which invites me.... search with GOOGLE...??? I want nothing more to do with gurgle, I have gone to lengths to avoid those bolld suckers.

As it says in the subject title. After performing a search and executing it. A new tab opens that displays about:blank. This occurs everytime an serach is performed the first time when opening Firefox. My current home page is set to Yahoo.com but will happen using any search engine.

When the tab is closed and the search is initiated again on the initial page. The search results populate. This is persistent and repeatable. This has happened since the previous update from the current version 149.0,2 on a Windows 11 pc.

The same thing happens on another pc that I use. And started happening without any prior glitches.

I have hased this question with no response since noticing the issue using the previous version.

Also. I have tried online suggestions to repair the issue with no positive results.

Needing a rapid fix.

I liked my search box functioning like it did before the last update...can you please revert it back to the way it was please or give us the option to change it back. Why mess with perfection???...thank you. (149.0 64bit currently)

I hopped onto firefox the same way many others did- looking for a browser that didn't have the ties to privacy issues or baggage of bloatware, and especially since all of the other browsers are changing things to focus on AI. And now that firefox is joining that chain I wonder why I even bother trying to get attached.

Like, on the one hand I can somewhat see where the CEO is coming from, everyone's getting a cool new toy and you want in on that, that's understandable. But with something as half-baked, destructive, and actively contentious as AI, I wonder the true value of playing with things like that.

In fact, have you SEEN what's going on with AI? Microsoft's shoved Copilot into every aspect of windows 11, their PCs, their browser, their marketing, and what did they get? Regret! They regretted that decision as consumers aren't happy with that decision!

Even OpenAI, the granddaddy of all LLM stuff around, they're not even going to be profitable until 2030. Yes, that's 4 years away. No, I sincerely HOPE they don't last that long.

Why Mozilla is picking this decision? FOMO, I presume, but like. It doesn't have to be this way, it's allowed to be a small bastion where people can actually pick what I want out of it. I dislike the fact Perplexity got added to my search functions, but I'm happy that I could turn it off.

I am trying to change my search over to Mozilla and firefox. When I open up the firebox search the google search pops in. Why? I already discouraged because I know they are attempting control. The last two years I have been hacked almost every month. The whole problem has been ongoing for almost 20 years.

I'm trying to move search engine from yahoo search to Firefox search engine because I had the Firefox search engine on my old phone and I liked it because it worked better than yahoo.

I use Mozilla's Firefox as my default browser. I recently noticed as I surf the Internet, Bing surreptitiously intercedes for Firefox. Why is this? How does this happen? There is nothing I can do to stop it, or change it. Why? I do not want that. Is that okay with the folks at Mozilla?

It's so invasive, and I'm sick of having to dig through pages to get accurate information when I used to be able to find it at the top of a search result. Poor performance all around. Are they really adding more BUILT-IN AI features to the browser? Does anyone know of good alternative browsers that don't have this issue? I want to be able to switch over quickly in case Firefox updates with features that would impede my experience.
