Last week I deleted browser data & cookies (for a Microsoft account I use) & then I accidentally used an incorrect password to login to Facebook & they locked my account. When I tried to change my password they didn't recognize my device, which I've been using for MANY years. They also reject photos of my i.d. & won't tell me why because I'm apparently trying to communicate with an a.i. bot, NOT a human being. P.S. To make things even worse, I was locked out of my phone, which kept asking me for a password that I've NEVER set up. So I had to do a factory reset & lost ALL my data.

I've tried everything I can think of & I'm wondering if it's possible to get at least some of the data back?

What a mess! After 136.0.4 was installed today and I rebooted my laptop, Firefox acted as if it was an entirely new installation. No bookmarks, no saved tabs (Tab Session Mgr extn was completely erased) and all custom settings eliminated. Any ideas about how to reverse this?

I signed into and synced my Firefox acct, which returned my bookmarks (albeit with generic icons that don't identify the sites). But no tabs have returned. Any my synced tabs history does not show everything that was open.

I'm now spending way too much time relocating and recreating what I need. This is not the first time Firefox is causing me recent pain (see prior post) and I'm again toying with leaving Firefox, as I periodically do when the platform becomes unstable and unreliable.

I love all the folks at Mozilla, but this simply cannot happen.

Firefox updated to version 137.0 (64-bit) on 4/1/2025 and deleted all of my Favorites. I tried to restore them from Manage Bookmarks - Import and Backup - Restore - Choose File. Choose file does nothing. I restarted the Windows 11 PC with no change and deleted my Extensions.

I had a issue with my Dell laptop, when it was resolved It had deleted Firefox. They created a new one, but the bookmarks are gone. I have looked at the information on recovering Bookmarks, but still cannot recover my bookmarks.

Can I get help on this issue?

What a dirty trick! I updated Firefox to version 136.0.1 to stop all the nagging, and my tabs disappeared! Nothing I could do brought them back. I asked the internet and finally learned about the sidebar, where tiny icons are shown (which I hadn't noticed). Nothing I could do with the sidebar brought the tabs back. Asked the internet again, and finally I found that buried in the Preferences is Browser Layout. When I deselected "Show sidebar," the tabs came back. What a dirty trick to make that the default, with no clue how to undo it! Nothing in the menus or the Help was any help. P.S., I am not a computer novice; I was a systems programmer in my professional life and have been using Firefox for many years.

Hello, I have been trying to get my old data back because I was able to get it done the last time when it happened in 2021 but my computer restart itself last night and I don't know what else to do since I tried to ask my little brother for help which didn't went too well even though I do appreciate him for helping me out but now I'm feeling frustrated about what else to do now.

When my Firefox crashed today, I chose to restore it rather than troubleshoot. When it was done, my bookmarks icon had disappeared. Yet when I go to the individual websites, I can see that each one is still bookmarked. How can I restore the icon that used to be in the toolbar at top? Thank you for any help you can give. I have been using Firefox for many years now and this is the first time I encountered this problem.

My previous post seems to have disappeared, so will try again. I am 85 years old and have been using Thunderbird fo over 15 years with out any problems. Afew days ago I tried to send an e-mail and didn't have any "Send" button. In trying fix, I some how deleted my contacts sidebar. I sill have my addresses book. I have tried everything to retrieve them but no luck. I tried removing Thunderbird and reinstall, but it comes back the same. I would appreciate an guidance in trying to resolve my problem. My laptop crashed and I had to format my hard and install new windows.

I have kept my passwords database files, which uses to be key3.db and key4.db along with logins.json and logins-backup.json files from my old use with me separately...

But the new Firefox folder didn't create these files anywhere where I could replace them with my files to get my stored passwords back.

Please help me restore my data from these files onto my new Firefox so I can get my stored passwords back.

Last week my (very old) computer crashed and upon restart, Firefox was displaying the attached error image. I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox several times in an attempt to get it to work but upon re-installation(s) every tab would just say "Your tab crashed". I was receiving the 'Bad Image' error code for Firefox as well as other software such as my pdf reader and iTunes. I took my computer to my local shop where they told me my computer was running out of memory and so they've installed some more as well as upgrading my 8gb RAM to 16gb.

I'm now able to run Firefox again, and my other software, but I've since lost the profile, with my tabs/bookmarks/history all gone. I'm super ADHD and so was very reliant on my bookmarks and my many tabs to organise my life.

I've tried importing old profiles from an 'Old Firefox Data' folder but none of them have my old bookmarks etc. The 'Old Firefox Data' folder seems to be dated after the crash.

I also did not have a Mozilla account at the time of crash. Is it possible for me to recover any of my old profile data? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Lost Bookmarks after Microsoft upgrade(?) Since I'm using the latest version of Windows I don't know what to call what happened that came by way of Microsoft. So far as I know, I'm the only one reporting this. It would seem that if this was a change initiated by Microsoft it should have affected millions of users.

So I am on a Windows Surface. I have been using Firefox. Lately a few times it went wonky and it did it again today where it would open a million windows and I couldn't close them or shut the app down. So I attempted to uninstall it. But it gave me an option to do a Refresh, which I tried but it didn't work. So I had no choice but to uninstall and reinstall it.

That's all well and good. But now I have lost years of bookmarks. DAMN!!!!! This is my work computer and I need to find a way to get all my bookmarks back. Is there a way to do it? Maybe accessing history or something?

I had to use Microsoft Edge to download the new version of Mozilla Firefox so its asking me if I want to transfer my data from Edge. I never use Edge. I like Mozilla Firefox but I am so in trouble if I cannot access all my bookmarks with important pages that I have saved. Darn.

I did your update today - and LOST ALL MY SAVED FOLDERS!! HELP! I have used Firefox for years - and now lost alot of important information.
