The new version of Firefox has been uploaded to my desktop withoiut any notification or communication to me. I have now lost all shortcuts and other data stored on my original Firefox, indeed, I have been taken back to the original as if I am a new user. I have used Firefox for many years. How do I retrieve all of the lost data from my old version? I am not a techie so please advise in simple step by step measures. Thank you. Regards Martin Forge

I've been using Firefox for decades without any problems. Still on Windows 10. The last update 'made' my bookmarks 'disappear'. I can see all the backups, but somehow they can't be reloaded. Worse, can't even reload my own earlier backup (HTML format). I've tried all available tricks to no avail.

I lost all my IT hardware and and just have my mobile phone. Now I am at a internetcafe. Where can I find my safed firefox bookmarks without installing firefox browser ?

I just used CCleaner health check and when done all my bookmarks were gone. I've had CCleaner for years and never had this happen before (laptop). The troubleshooting list was unclear and did not correct the problem.

mozilla keeps closing out.When it does I lose all passwords and bookmarks.I'm not even home when this happens.This started when I bought a new computer which has windows 11.Old one had 10.When some bookmarks come back they are old one or the don't work

When Firefox is updating itself, it can create different profiles and so lose all bookmarks, passwords, logins and everything . And I have to start doing many things again, but can't return the pins I have kept or open tabs in other windows , and this cause me a lot already

I have 2 questions that I want answers for : 1 - Why you give a solution for this matter on your site ( https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/recover-user-data-missing-after-firefox-update ) , and not solving this matter in the first place?

2- Are you going to fix this matter and when ?

Firefox just updated today and wiped all of my bookmarks and passwords. I need them to be restored as it included my login information for vital personal services such as my online banking, health information, etc. I hadn't saved this information anywhere else.

The passwords seem to have been stored in a login.json file, however, copying that file into my Firefox profile folder doesn't restore them.

Any help would be desperately appreciated.

I recently received an update for the latest version of your browser and installed it. However, all of my bookmarks appear to be missing. I have an HTML backup of my bookmarks stored on a USB drive, but when I attempt to import it into the updated browser, I receive a message stating that the file is not recognized as a bookmark file and cannot be uploaded. This is unusual, as I am able to import the same HTML file on other computers and browsers without any issues.

I also tried using the “Sync” function to restore my bookmarks, but this did not work either.

Could you please advise on how I can resolve this issue?

This is the message I get when I try to access my Bookmarks: "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional because one of Firefox's files is in use by another application. Some security software can cause this problem." I have already tried to find out from Microsoft if their latest reinstallation of Office Professional could have caused the problem. They say they have nothing to do with Firefox. How can I get my Bookmarks and History back?

I did reinstall of the Windows on all the devices I had, PC and laptop. Now I've lost my data bookmarks, password and sites. Please help me out how what I cab do here.
