I have two problems with Firefox 90.0.2 (64-bit).

1. Sometimes the program stops responding; sometimes it restarts on its own but sometimes I have to close it.

2. Sometimes when I switch from Firefox to another open program Firefox closes on its own.

Thanks.

Since the latest update of Firefox (to 90.0.2) I've found that, when confronted with a login-password screen, Firefox recommends a number of login possibilities ... but not the correct one.

As an example, when I log into a newspaper account, I'm offered three emails as possible login names...but NOT the email to which the account is registered. The only password saved in Firefox for that account is the correct one. The newspaper help desk had no helpful answer.

I do not leave my computer running 24/7 and so the browser is closed regularly

I've tried removing the login/password information, re-starting the computer, and then signing in, but this did not solve the problem.

Should I roll back to an earlier version of Firefox, or do I need to leave everything running all the time forever to avoid this?

Thanks! Sarah

One web site, Etsy will not display, just a blank white page, refresh no good. If i close Firefox and restart, it is likely to appear for a while then go blank after clicking thru my store. Anything etsy/ is blank. Could it be Firefox or some blocker, blacklist somewhere? It is fine on my iphone.

Been a continuous user of FF since the beginning. Recently (most recent few weeks) FF has started issuing popup notices in the lower right hand portion of the browser screen. These only occur when FF is loaded and active. How can I tell which, if any, extensions might be responsible so I can resolve and stop these annoying messages? I've tried trying to determine how and why myself without success. Any suggestions - thank you.

Hello,

As stated, when I connect to public networks (namely Starbucks' and Panera's) Firefox will not successfully load their connection portals. A new tab will open, and "www.msftconnecttest.com/redirect" will begin loading, but go nowhere. Each time I am forced to open Microsoft Edge to paste that link in and the connection proceeds.

Has anyone encountered this before?

When I open Google Maps it doesn't show the normal icons for navigation on the map. It doesn't do anything when I have hardware acceleration enabled and I type something in the search bar. If I disable hardware acceleration it does a search, but in no way can I get it to show the place I want to see. It just shows the map of Rotterdam, where Google thinks I live based on my IP address.

It does work in Safari though, so it's a Firefox problem. I hope you can fix it. Google seems to give the FF team lots of problems.

When I go to websites i.e. PayPal, Facebook, eBay, amazon, etc I get emails saying that I used an unknown browser that I have not used before. This started with your new update 90.0.2 64 bit. I am not technically savvy what do I do to stop these emails and let them know it is fire fox mozilla browser. Fire fox is my main browser and has been for years but, unless there is some way to let websites know this is a new update to fire fox Mozilla I will be forced to remove this browser from my computer. Please advise me what I can do. Thank you. Katisam3@cox.net

Here is my system's status: Firefox 90.0.2 (64-bit) Bitdefender Total security (newest version) Windows 10, 64bit, Version 10.0.19043 Build 19043

Since a short while I experienced that URLs in search lists did not change their color anymore as before to show them as already visited. This is a major impediment in using searches systematically. I cannot pin the timing for that problem down to a certain event as there had been updates to all 3 of the above mentioned system elements, OS, AV & Firefox. I tried to go through a number of suggested solutions to the problem without achieving anything. Pls note: -Browser is NOT set to "always search in privacy" -Browser is set to remember browsing history -Cross checking with MS Edge showed the same problem - means that it is probably not a Firefox internal issue -Tweaking MS/Edge privacy settings were equally unsuccessful

Does anybody have a suggestion where the problem might be rooted? I spent already several hours on this and it feels like a dead end. Thank you in advance for every hint in the right direction. JM

I keep getting error messages in a pop-up at the bottom left of the Firefox window that says that the internet connection is "lost" and a few seconds later another pop up appears that says the connection is "restored." Firefox is unresponsive during the interval but the Windows 10 OS does not indicate any change in my internet connection during this period. What is going on?

I'm on Windows 10.

I have told my FF to open *.diff files in my preferred text editor (which supports syntax highlighting). Now it seems that if a webserver serves this file as "content-type text/plain", FF will download the file in a temp folder, add the .txt extension (on top of the .diff extension the file has), then invokes the preferred application to open that file.

E.g. https://gitlab.com/freepascal.org/lazarus/lazarus/uploads/ccec59aabbef6cbe00df39bfd57f565a/checkbox.diff is downloaded to my system as C:\users\username\AppData\Local\Temp\checkbox.diff.txt and then this filename will be passed as a paramater to my editor.

In contrast, when I download the file (choose "save file" from the dialog) and then from the "downloads menu" choose "open", the file will be downloaded without FF altering the file extension, and will open as expected.

How can I persuade FF to NOT append a .txt to that file when I ask to open it in my preferred application?

Notice that on Linux Mint 18.0, FF does NOT append a .txt to the file in the example above and opens it in Kate (my default editor there) as simply path/to/checkbox.diff

Hi. When Firefox added the screenshot functionality, it was very useful to me since i didn't have to open snip & sketch every-time I want to take a screenshot. I did notice that the ability to access the screenshot from the address bar was removed and moved to the mouse's right click options instead. I work with Microsoft azure and have to create documents for clients and by default, right clicking doesn't work on azure and some other sites. Because of this, i can't take screenshots using Firefox. Is there a way to put the screenshot option back to the address bar or maybe have it show up in the toolbar options? Thanks.

Clicking on the Comments section in any ZDNet article (https://www.zdnet.com/article/) gets no response at all. The Comments section doesn't open, I'm not prompted to log in -- nothing. The cursor does change from the default arrow to a hand with pointed finger, as usual, and the Comments bar color flashes as it should when I click on it -- but that's the limit of interaction. I've tested the link with Chrome and Bing and the function still works there, but not in Firefox, and apparently hasn't since about the 26th of July. What's going on, and how can this problem be addressed?

Good evening. I have Firefox set to NOT switch to a new tab when it opens from a link but it does anyway. I clicked the box and unclicked it but it still switches over. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, how can I stop the address bar from searching the web and just search bookmarks and history? I have a separate bar for searching and prefer my web searches show up there.

Thanks in advance.

Hello

I am using Firefox 90.0.2 on Windows 10.

It is impossible for me to connect to the website

    http://www.minresco.com/

Something is blocking it. It is not my ISP (I checked with them; they suggested that either Firefox or antivirus software is doing this).

How do I tell if Firefox is doing the blocking, and how do I remove the block if it is?

Thanks,

Kurt
