Never works to clear history. I can remove individual cookies. Here's my settings:

Options - General - Show my windows and tabs from last time. - Tabs - top 4 checked. - Content - Block pop-up windows checked - Privacy - Tracking - first box selected; History - FF will remember history. - Security - Top three checked. - Advanced - Network - Cached web content - Override cache management checked. Limit to 350mb.

FF crashes at least once a week. For at least the past 4 weeks, when I re-open it and try to restore session, all the pages open as "blank". In History, "restore session" is grayed out. I've looked through the articles here about restore session, and looked at the suggested solutions and tried the ones that are relevant. Nothing worked. I suspect the problem lies in the profile but I can't find a step-by-step answer how to fix the profile saving the session correctly. I don't even know if this is the problem, but every other solution was wrong.

In the meantime, I've gone to Chrome!!!! it happily does all of the above.

Firefox has been crashing two to three times daily but it isn't logging the crashes. How do I remedy that so I can take the next step and find out why it's crashing?

When I'm trying to open twitter.com Firefox keeps waiting for twitter.com and then shows unable to open.I'm running Firefox on windows 8.1 it works just fine with my Ubuntu Linux but shows this problem on my windows 8.1.I'm unable to access any of Google's sites and twitter.Facebook,Yahoo and other sites works fine.Please help me. i am on FF 28 for a long time now and i would like to switch to latest 64bit version BUT

i have 1775 tabs which ARE NOT being automatically loaded/opened because i have tab mix plus

and my current FF 28 takes MAX 60 seconds to fully open and load FF but any other version after 28 including FF 40 it takes UNBELIEVABLE 5 MINUTES to start with 1775 tabs

it already is a pain for me to make any version after 28 to resemble and function as 28 i need to do a LOT of setting up searching for add ons restarting etc.. so it takes me some 2 days to fully customize any version after 28 to my

liking and finally start working and ONLY problem i was unable to solve and that is preventing me to upgrade is EXTREMELY SLOW loading and start with 1775 tabs

i tried everything like:

fresh install

no add ons

different settings

etc.... and i still need to wait 5 minutes

AND THE MAJOR PROBLEM NO.2 IS

if FF IS RUNNING and i click on external link new tab opens next to active one AND THAT IS OK

and if i am example on tab 501 and i close ( ANY VERSION OF FF ) and start it again it will open where i left it AND THAT IS OK

BUT if i close FF and click on any external link like in Steam or Windows it will open a new tab on the END so than in need to double click and scroll 3 minutes OR MORE to get where i was

so here is what i do i install new version of FF and just copy sessionstore.bak sessionstore.js in c:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\4j0mi1a7.USER\

AND THE MAJOR PROBLEM NO.3 IS when it happens that power goes off or i get BSOD which i got 2 times in 5 years until 2 months ago and that was related to a game and memory timings and it is resolved

i lose sessionstore.bak sessionstore.js

so EVERY day SEVERAL times i must back up

sessionstore.bak sessionstore.js

because i once lost 2000+ tabs

Bonjour aux équipes techniques de Firefox,

Je suis ABSOLUMENT excédé MAINTENANT PAR FIREFOX, car le navigateur plante sans arrêt; mes plugins sont à jour. Je n'arrive pas à cerner le problème, quelque soit le site, à l'ouverture d'un nouvel onglet après avoir cliqué sur un lien, il est très fréquent que le navigateur plante. .....Quelquefois sans raisons apparentes...Il n'est pas rare que tout mon historique (onglets ouverts soit perdu à la réouverture de Firefox) je perds ainsi tout mon travail !! Mon processeur est un Amd hexa cœurs (AMD FD8350FRHKBOX), mais j'avais aussi ce problème sur mon ancienne carte mère avec processeur Amd quadricoeur, monté sur une carte mère Asus (Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 Carte mère ATX AMD socket AM3/AM3+). Mémoire (Kingston - KHX16C10B1RK2/16) J'en arrive fréquemment à 15 ou même vingt plantages dans une seule journée !! A noter qu'avec mon pc portable HP processeur intel, je n'ai à priori pas ce soucis (??), les plantages sont rares !! Que faire ?? J'ai finalement utilisé les navigateurs chrome puis Safari, et Là AUCUNS PLANTAGES NE SONT À DEPLORER !! QUE FAIRE ?? ABANDONNER FIREFOX ??

After reset, which said that I wouldn't loose any bookmarks, all bookmarks folders that I had are gone except for Bookmarks Toolbar and Bookmarks Menu that has just recently bookmarked folders. I had about 50 others that are gone. How do I get them back? Where are they? There is a folder on my desktop that says "old Firefox data" and following the directions I took jplaces.sqlite from that folder and replaced the one in the new in Profiles, but it didn't restore the bookmarks. Help!!

I am running Windows 7 Pro and FF 28.

Drop down menus don't work on any site. They don't work after a clean install of FF. They don't work when FF is in Safe Mode. They just don't work.

I have searched and searched and the solution is the same - safe mode, turn off extensions, etc.

I've turned off Hardware Acceleration - doesn't help.

Any new ideas?

I have recently removed version 29 which was installed without my permission and reverted to version 28, which was FAR better. I now have a number of right click options for highlight, cut, copy and paste from web pages. I don't see anywhere to attach screenshots but I have FOUR of them, all showing different options for highlight, cut, copy or paste and they are all ridiculous. What can I do to resolve this? OK. Screenshots added. 1) Dozens of options, of which only cut, copy, paste are needed for the highlighted text. The text is not a video, is not an audio file, is not a plugin, stupid to set as desktop, cannot be deleted. 2) Highlighted text is NOT a link. 3) Duh. No idea what this right click option is about. 4) This is the only right click option I want. Unfortunately, it only appears about once in fifty right clicks.

so i have mozilla set as ask me where to save and i have never had this problem before but when i click firefox freezes and and then i have to end task it. i have cleared my downloads and i have cleared my download.rdf file from my profile so it is no longer there. i have also tried reinstalling firefox and updating and that did not work!!!i think the problem might be when i select my desktop it freezes with IE, so many its something wrong with that? i dont know what to do, i cant even export my bookmarks without it freezing! please help i dont want to reinstall my whole computer to fix the problem.

Well, I've spent most of my day trying to figure out how to fix this. My power unexpectedly went out overnight and I left my computer on. When I woke up, i saw that the computer was off. So I started my computer, but when I went to get onto Firefox, none of my windows and tabs were there. (and I did have a ton of tabs open.) There wasn't even a "Restore Previous Session" icon to press on the Firefox homepage or a "Well, this is embarrassing" window. I tried opening "sessionstore.js" and "sessionstore.bak", but then a window came up titled "Windows Script Host" and said "Microsoft JScript Compilation Error." Then all there is to do is press "Ok". (By the way, at another time today when I tried opening a .js file, it said "Windows can't open this file" and it wanted me to choose the program I wanted to use to open the file, or use the internet to find a program. I chose Notepad, but then it was just a bunch of letters, words and symbols.)

I've also tried entering "about:sessionrestore" to get my windows and tabs back and then it says "Well, this is embarrassing." and "Firefox is having trouble recovering your windows and tabs." And there are no windows and tabs showing up below that sentence, with check marks, like it is when session restore has worked for me in the past. The only thing that worries me is that I did restart my computer between when I first started it this morning and now, when I'm writing this. I wanted to see if the "Restore Previous Session" icon would bring up my missing windows and tabs from before. But all it brought up automatically were the current windows and tabs that I have open right now. So now I'm wondering if I've permanently lost those tons of tabs that I had open before the power went out.

The other thing is that when I first got onto Firefox today, I could see all of my history from the days, weeks, and months past. Now I can only see today's history. I know I pressed something when I was trying to fix things but I don't remember what I pressed. Maybe that changed whether or not I could see the previous months' history. I did try "places.sqlite", "places.sqlite-shm" and "places.sqlite-wal" to restore my history, but again it said "Windows can't open this file" and it wanted me to choose a program to open the file. So again I chose Notepad, and it was just a bunch of letters, numbers, and symbols.

Hello, I have recently been having problems in two areas.

1) I cannot login into the site www.issuu.com :

   It accepts the log-in name and password but fails to register that I am logged in. I can log in using  
   both Chrome and IE. I was able to log in using FF until about 2 weeks ago. Have no log-in problems
   on other sites.

2) I am unable to play videos on www.ted.com:

   When I click on the play icon it shows loading but won't do anything further. Again I can play the 
   videos in the above to browsers. Videos on other sites such as Youtube etc are not a problem.

Solutions attempted: - Made sure FF was up to date. - Cleared cookies, cache, site preferences and history - no change - disabled all addons - no change - Reset firefox and tried without addons installed - worked once, fixing both problems. Problems have

                                                                                     re-occured and now this solution doesn't fix them.

Running: Windows 7 64bit (fully updated) Zonealarm security

Regardless what I do in Preferences->Content->Default font, including the "Advanced" option, the font size on any webpage goes to at least 120% automatically. For example: in Yahoo Mail, Inbox I reduce the zoom/font size using the Command plus "-" keys. The moment I click on another tab, or click on an email message, the contents of the other tab or the email message come up on reduced size for only one second, then it switches back to what it was before I reduced the zoom for the previous tab. I couldn't find a way in Firefox to set a default zoom for any or all websites.

I found an add-on on your website, it is called NoSquint, which apparently does just that. I installed it, configured it, but . . . I click on an email message, the contents of the message comes up for keeping the reduced zoom size. When I switch back to Inbox, for about one second the reduced zoom is on, but immediately it jumps back to the high zoom size.

Interestingly enough in the bottom right corner of the monitor the NoSquint zoom size shows the reduced zoom, even on the screen the zoom is high after switching back to the previous window. Only when I just start using the keyboard shortcut to reduce the zoom size clicking it once, the bottom corner indicator jumps back to show the correct zoom size. So, even this add-on doesn't work properly.

Not to be able to keep font sizes at "normal" level is a nuisance, since I use a 30" monitor (for photo restoration work in Photoshop and Lightroom), and fonts come up huge at 120% zoom. a 70-80% zoom would produce a much better font size on this large monitor.

I'm using Firefox 28.0 in Windows 7 & for some reason, when I updated it, it added a search engine toolbar. I do not remember having one on the old version & I do NOT want the toolbar. How do I remove it? Thanks.

I've recently been receiving prompts to "add application" for one of the sites I visit (related to mail). I don't want these prompts to show up every time and there's no option to permanently dismiss them. Is there something in about:config which will stop these prompts?

Hello My website is "do-dance.ru". When I type the address and press Enter to go to this website, Firefox quite often shows me a pop-up window asking whether I meant actually "dance-do.ru", which is totally another web-site. How can I address this? When my clients type "do-dance.ru" I want them to be directed to my webpage without any suggestions for another web-sites from Firefox, please.

I was uploading a zip file to a website and Firefox stopped uploading it in the middle of the upload. Since that happened, I have not been able to open the site again in Firefox. I open it and all I see is connecting in top left corner of screen but it never connects. How can I fix this?

Firefox hangs all the time on particular pages. I don't know if it has something to do with Flash player but it only seems to happen occasionally when I'm browsing the web whereas it's guaranteed to happen every time on UK newspaper websites. It is driving me mad, I prefer Firefox to IE 10 but this one issue is likely to stop be using it. Any suggestions?
