Hi. I'm asking this question because I'm not quite sure how to describe this issue through a Google search. Recently, I've noticed that whenever I click and drag anything, an icon will pop up while I'm doing so. Attached is an example, I click-and-dragged on the "Learn More" hyperlink off to the right.

Is there any way to disable the icon that pops up? It bothers me and seems to slow things down, which isn't ideal. I'm not the most well-versed when it comes to Firefox's more advanced settings (the options in about:config and whatnot) so I wouldn't know where to start.

As of yesterday, whenever I have to open my Firefox browser on my laptop I get the "You've launched an older version of Firefox" pop up email. I have to log in and set up all my preferences each time. I have never had to do that before.

How can one search for bookmark-folders? (not a a bookmark contained by a folder) I have my bookmarks sorted in a tree-like structure via bookmark folders. It would be essential to me to be able to search for the folder in a search bar (like in the bookmark sidebar), since I have many folders/sub-folders.

Firefox version: 139.0.4 (64-bit) OS: Windows 11

I have been having issues where Firefox tab will just crash out for no reason it appears and it happens at random times and once the tab start to crash, and I restore it, it will crash again and again. The only way tog et out of the loop is to restart Firefox.

I have tried: Refreshing/Reset, Clearing Cache and History removing all themes, disabling extensions, disabling my anti virus. Turning off hardware acceleration didn't make any different.

I currently have 2 extensions enabled: uBlock Origin 1.64.0 and Bitwarden Password Manager 2025.5.0

In the about:Crashes I have reported them all and they seem to have the same type of reasons in the Raw data/Minidump which are: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION_WRITE EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION_READ

Any help as to what to try next?

My Windows PC laptop has stopped syncing bookmarks from my android phone, even though I set them up to sync with each other. The syncing suggestions under Firefox support for syncing do not match with the options on my laptop or android phone.

There are times that I use the screenshot tool on X.com and the filename it saves to is WAY too long. Sometimes it tries to use the entire content of the post as the filename. I see this effect in the title bar as well. Is there a way to change it so it only uses a date/timestamp and nothing else? Attached is an example of this extremely long naming. While I am able to log into my Google account in Chrome, I am unable to do so in Firefox after the latest update. Whenever I try, I am redirected to the attached support page, which asks me to delete cookies and cache contents. Deleting those does not help.

The sidebar isn't showing the buttons. They are there but I can't tell what is what without clicking on them which makes them useless for a shortcut.

I had a whole bunch of open Firefox tabs and tab groups all carefully arranged just the way I wanted, then somehow a couple of tabs got moved to a new window (don't know how that happened, I didn't click the "Move Tab" and "Move To A New Window" menu options), and when I was trying to figure out how to move them back (not possible, apparently) the original window got accidentally closed -- and with it all my tabs and tab groups! When I reopened Firefox they just weren't there. Aagh! Clicking on History just shows the last tabs I accessed, not the full arrangement of groups and the many other tabs I haven't accessed in awhile but want to keep at the ready.

Can I get all that back? Or was relying on Firefox to organize my online work a bad idea?

I had an extension that gave me access to Claude.ai. It was working quite well until this morning, when its CPU shot through the roof. I shut down its tab. I could not figure out how to restart it, and it's not in my extensions list. Was that deprecated? Is there still a direct interface to Claude.ai on Firefox?

I pulled up About:Firefox, and it informs I must restart to update it. That was news to me.

I could also (before restart), do successive Control-T presses to resurrect my Claude.ai. I will try that before restart. Could you tell me what I should look for in the Claude.ai tab, or elsewhere, if Control-T is successful? Thanks,

I cannot for the life of me figure this out. Whenever I load a website that needs location (for example, Google Maps or my province's lottery) and enable location permissions, the websites come back saying they cannot find my location.

I have refreshed Firefox, disabled all Enhanced Tracking Protection, disabled all extensions, and have even ran Firefox in Troubleshoot mode - all to no avail. Is there any way this can be fixed? These websites all work on Chrome and Edge and work on my Firefox for iPhone.
