I have the problem with firefox AND edge, that when I want to log into my router, via 192.168.8.1, I receive message that an error has occurred or that it is not secure.

How do I avoid these messages? I have made rules in my Bitdefender to allow it, but still it does not work. Any suggestions how to be able to log into my router, is welcomed.

when you select text and right click popup "Search google for 'text marked'" , here google is your FF's default search engine, but for people in multi-lingual region would prefer to search e.g. web in the language of the selected text, which makes more sense for the results.

I wonder if FF could add this function, auto detect the text's language and search in e.g. google.de, google.cn or google.fr?

Which is like the macOS lookup, it detect the text language and point to that dictionary?

FF could be a little more intelligent, right?

Greetings, I've checked a few articles in Firefox to help with my question, but none of them are helping. (Here's the main article: http://example.com.) Here's the situation. Say I go to a website's Contact page and click the button to contact someone, a window appears and asks me what app I want to use to open the email. Gmail is my default email, and Firefox is my default browser, and I use Windows 10. When I open the window of options (see attached screenshot) to open the email, and I then click "Choose Other Application" (other than Firefox), I don't see the Gmail app anywhere. I then followed the directions in that link above to check my Windows settings, per its suggestion, which I did ... but in those settings, too, I got to a point where the directions no longer matched what I'm seeing on my screen. I didn't see the Gmail app anywhere. Could you let me know in simple layperson's terms how to open Gmail links in Firefox? I don't have a PhD in computer science, so please keep it very simple. Hi, the squarepage extension was recently disabled due to security concerns. The settings indicate that it can still be used in private mode. I followed the linked instructions, but there is still no enable slider.

How can I enable this ?

i'd like to copy my Firefox profile from PC1 to a new PC2;

Last time i tried this, i ended up with PC2 having the same "name" as PC1 in "Sync". This caused weird sync issues, as the system thought my PC2 was PC1 as vice versa.

So, is it possible to copy my entire profile with all addons/settings, BUT, make "Sync" recognize it as a NEW pc ?

I've gone through all of the steps to reset my Firefox browser and attempted to change my search engine from Duckduckgo to Startpage. Every time it works a couple of times then Duckduckgo hijacks the search engine back to itself. I've deleted this search engine, reset my browser, said yes to prompts by Startpage to be the default browser, and tried everything that I can think of. Very, very frustrating. And I start to worry about the security of the Firefox browser itself. Any ideas?

I have a blog/website.

When changing to different sections of the site, everyone (including myself) using firefox are experiencing a white quick flash.

This is not occurring while on chrome nor opera.

I had this issue years ago with ff @ another location.

I found a small script online to add @ the header & it resolved the issue.

can't seem to find it now.

So the Reddit website seems to load, but ends up with a big old blank white page. I've cleared my cache, I've cleared my DNS cache. I've pressed ctrl + f5, I've rebooted the computer. Nothing seems to be aloowing mt to open reddit. Please advise.

I used to watch the TED videos using the links in their email. Then some time ago they stopped playing. It accesses the website and video but there is a circle going around and nothing happens. I tested the same on Microsoft Edge and it works. I do not like Edge and hopefully, you can solve this issue because it is important. I have looked at all the solutions online but they do not fix the problem. I use Windows 11 and everything is up to date.

I recently installed Firefox 102.0.1 64-bit on a new WinX laptop. Using the same link as always (http://www.henderson.lib.nc.us/) I am unable to connect with my county library. I'm not having trouble with other sites. The error message says

Secure Connection Failed

An error occurred during a connection to www.hendersoncountync.gov. PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR

   The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
   Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

I turned off HTTPS-Only Mode but the problem persisted. I also tried entering this site as an exception for HTTPS-Only but that didn't help. Even after restarting the computer, Firefox continues to reset the URL to HTTPS from HTTP. My wife was able to access this website on her desktop WinX with Firefox and no problem. On my WinX desktop with Firefox I connected to https://www.hendersoncountync.gov/library instantly.

Is the HTTPS-Only Mode sticky? What am I missing?

I cannot seem to reach https://community.esri.com/ via Firefox but can reach it fine with Chrome and Edge.

Firefox says "The page isn’t redirecting properly. An error occurred during a connection to community.esri.com. This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies."

So I even added the page to list of Exceptions, but still cannot reach site.

Lately, when I try to create a desktop shortcut from the Github website, it instead create a folder, with the correct title of the page, and what looks like a link inside, with an abbreviated website name, but is not a shortcut at all.

Example: Try dragging the address bar padlock from this page to your desktop

Same thing happens when I try to drag its bookmark to the desktop.

Creating the shortcut from Chrome works properly, so I assume this is a Firefox problem.

Firefox is set as my default email app in W10 - pls see uploaded image. I have tried to change it by using the options at the bottom of that default app screen. I use Sky Yahoo mail but I cannot change from Firefox. I want to set Sky Yahoo as my default email for W10.

Any help for this old novice much appreciated.

How can I translate my website https://rhizmall.pk/ in Mozilla with different languages, like other browsers shown by right click on tools bar or on web page to translate in different languages?

I have tried every troubleshooting from the other answers available on the support website but whenever I am trying to login, it shows a black screen and I also unregistered Twitter from about:serviceworkers but still nothing, I also cannot upload the screenshot here it just says uploading and nothing else. Images are not uploading even from other devices.

Update: this issue was because of a filter from uBlock's list. Fixed now. I am not sure how to close my question.

I have never seen something like this before and I would like to know what it means and if I should exclude this, etc. So that's why I send you a mail to check it. Like to hear from you and many thanks in advance. Greetz Karin

Hi, I'm back to an older computer where I already had Firefox installed. I have it installed and synchronized on 3 other computers and it works perfectly there. My main issue is that in the settings, Firefox is supposed to open with all the tabs I had opened when I closed it. It doesn't... It sends me to the home page. Second issue, also unique: I'm using Duck and go as search engine, and I have the same issue: it doesn's save my preferences (when it does on the same computer with Brave browser) Should I uninstall it all and try again? I already applied all the solutions suggested in th online help pages...
