Recently in our workplace, we had several computers that suddenly stopped being able to access several websites, the issue started shortly after pushing a updated Firefox across the floor.

I tracked the issue down to being related to security.tls.version.fallback-limit defaulting to 4, instead of the old 3.

Setting the value to 3 resolves the website accessibility issue.

A.) How can I confirm if this is a recent change or not? Everything I read seems to indicate the default should already be 3, but its very definitively not.

B.) What is the best way to push a pref adjustment change across the floor if the option isn't present in the registry and isn't a GPO option? Is my only option really to make some script that scans every computer's users folder, check every user folder's appdata\mozilla, scan every profile for a pref.js file, and do a string search for a reference line and then do a line addition if a certain string doesn't exist?

I can do this, it just doesn't seem like a good long term fix as I would have to run this script regularly as users come and go....

I am on FF 128.7.0esr (64-bit) under a new profile.

I can't install Firefox on my 2015 iMac, which is running Montery 12.2.6 OS. I had to reinstall everything after erasing my HD due to it not starting up for some reason, but now I get the message "“Firefox 135.0.dmg” is damaged and can’t be opened." every time I try to install Firefox. Any ideas how to get Firefox back?

This is pretty shady Mozilla.

When disabling only one setting: "Allow Firefox to install and run studies" it wrecks this site whether logging is or continuing as guest:

Even after logging in and everything running normal, disabling the studies run by Mozilla and a quick refresh breaks the functionality of the page. All cookies were accepted and the sharing of location was allowed. On a fresh, first run, wide open Firefox people. Literally, the only change that was made was unchecking that one box. In disbelief, i tested it over and over.

Why would disabling a telemetry setting, something that should be optional, cause this to happen? Seriously, what could possibly be the reason. I'd love to hear it.

This was the final nail in the coffin to me and this is since the 0.9x days.

Firefox updated itself to V135.0 this morning and now my LastPass icon is missing from the menu bar - top right corner. I can no longer simply click the LP icon to open the vault to access a password for any given website.

Please advise.

For the past month or so, I'd say about 20% of the websites I visit using Firefox just show a blank, white screen. (See allbirds.com site image attached for example.)

1. Cleared the cache and cookies to see if that fixed it. It didn't. 2. Entered Troubleshoot Mode to see if that fixed it. It didn't. 3. Disabled all extensions to see if that fixed it. It didn't. 4. Disabled "recommended performance settings" and hardware acceleration--in combination with some of the above--to see if that fixed it. It didn't. 5. Reinstalled Firefox to see if that fixed it. It didn't. 6. Also paused/disabled VPN (Nord) and anti-virus (McAfee) to see if that made a difference. It didn't.

Any other ideas?

I like to be able to type a single letter into the address bar and go to a website based on previous history. For example I type 's' and speedtest.net pops up. I'd like to type 'g' and get google like I used to. Now, instead, global.americanesxpress.com auto-populates and cannot be "removed from history". I have disabled anything with the word suggest. I've unchecked everything under Address Bar except Browsing History and nothing removes this offensive site from the url bar. So I disabled Browsing history and just type the full URL. Is there any way to remove this site or is it now a part of the browser itself?

Whenever I open up PDFs within the Firefox browser, they have a black background and the text and images do not appear. I can copy the text and images out of the pdf and into a word document and it works out fine. Also opening it up on other applications works out fine. Attached is what happens when I open up a known working pdf in Firefox. The browser version is the current version, 135.0.

Is the Primary (formerly called "Master") password shared or Firefox synchronised between different devices?

The reason that I ask this is that I am a decrepit and ignorant old bugger in his 8th decade that has been using Firefox for nearly 25 years. Consequently I have a lot of passwords stored in Firefox's password manager that I REALLY do not want to lose.

Unfortunately, on my main desktop machine, becoming more paranoid after a suspected identity theft attack, I decide to change the Master Password (recently re-named to Primary Password) to something longer and harder to guess or break.

Unfortunately I have forgotten what I changed it to ! (I can remember the first 15 characters but then not the ending sequence...)

However, I discovered that on an old laptop (that had not been connected to the internet for a long time - and I've disconnected it from the local Wi-Fi now) that my old password still worked and I could still see many of the old passwords (since it had not been synchronised).

I am worried that if I try and restore my passwords by now connecting to the internet and synchronising, I will then be locked out of this remaining treasury of my passwords if Firefox synchronisation then disastrously changes the old password (that I still remember) to the new password that I have forgotten - hence my question...

PS: I still have a paper record of something called an "Account Recovery Key" consisting of 8 groups of 4 alphanumeric characters (each group only contains capital letters and numerals - although one 4 character group does not contain any numerals at all, but all groups have at least one capital letter). Could I use this to recover the misremembered new password?

PPS: Don't you think it is always a bad idea to include both zeroes and letter Oh for Oscars in this account recovery key as capital letters rather than lower case letters, since they look so similar?

ie z00 or zoo is less prone to confusion that Z00 or ZOO

When I turn on "Recommended stories" in settings, I get blank boxes instead of the news feed when I start a new tab. This problem started two-to-three weeks ago. Before that, it was working fine. I don't know what caused this problem or how to fix it.

I have two computers - one Windows 10 and one Windows 11 I have Firefox 135.0 installed on both of them. The old computer displays them right away. Both computers are sitting side-by-side on my desk, plugged into the same LAN, and using the same Comcast ISP connection. Also, the Edge browser on the Windows 11 computer shows the reviews right away - no spinny circle.

I am trying to log into Hallmark.com and am being denied. Believe it is due to ad blocking? And it says I am a non-human trying to log on

I use Firefox as my default browser on my personal laptop. Recently, several websites that I frequent appear blank when I go to the url. I've checked my network connectivity and the websites as well. None are broken. The interesting thing is that I get the same issue when using edge. Anything else I can troubleshoot? Thanks!

I want to download and install Firefox on my new iMac. As administrator it downloads but the instellation won't run. As a user it downloads and I can move the icon into the application folder. Firefox then opens but it won't run. Everything is frozen. What is going on??
