When printing double-sided from Firefox 103, the second page comes out upside-down. A previous thread 'Two-sided printing rotating on wrong axis' reported this problem for Firefox 85 / 86, and said that it was fixed by updating to the current version. I have the current version, but am getting the same problem. I have tried manually setting instructions to flip on long side (portrait orientation), but that doesn't work. Help!

How can I disable the annoying function of automatic download of attachments every time I access one even though I used to be able to just open them or decide to download. Tired of deleting every blasted file into recycle when I don't want this. It doesn't matter if I select "ask where to download" box is checked.

Hi, the squarepage extension was recently disabled due to security concerns. The settings indicate that it can still be used in private mode. I followed the linked instructions, but there is still no enable slider.

How can I enable this ?

I have used Firefox for years. I am computer literate and do not like the newer approach Firefox has taken to save all downloads to my downloads folder. I have to continually go in and manually delete the files.

For instance, I have a lot of pdf forms that I have to open directly in Acrobat, those files are then duplicated and saved in my downloads. This is causing a mess for me.

This was NOT an improvement in my opinion. Is there a way to stop this???

I know how to change normal pages css via different tools like Stylus etc. (or via userContent.css). But this does not work for pages created by addons.

Hello, I have been using Firefox as my main browser for more than a decade. One could say i am some Mozilla fanboy, having convinced many of my friends and relatives to use Firefox instead of any chrome based options (Which there are to many these days). It struck me today, as i was reworking some workflow elements in many programs i use daily, that it is impossible to change any key binding in Firefox anymore. I know it has been a while now, and i searched all over the web for an answer or a solution, but at this point it is clear that other than going in the code and recompiling Firefox manually, it is not possible. I stumbled upon the (only) extension that allows to change some shortcuts, but the two that i wanted to change are impossible to configure from it, being disabling only f12 as i would use it for other things but i do not want to lose the dev console and also ctrl+L to open the address bar, it is quite inconvenient and would much prefer to use ctrl+spacebar as it matches many other bindings i am using with other software. There have been many other features that were changed in the recent years that made me start to look for an alternative, as i see features melting away almost as quickly as the user base of the product.

I do understand that one person's problem is not going to change the way a big piece of software is working, but i am wondering, why are the users losing such features as basic as customizing key bindings in a piece of software that used to be so incredibly customizable in the past? Why is the only viable option to anything chrome based losing it's edge over the competition? Is Firefox v150 be based on the chromium engine or will it die before?

Greetings, I've checked a few articles in Firefox to help with my question, but none of them are helping. (Here's the main article: http://example.com.) Here's the situation. Say I go to a website's Contact page and click the button to contact someone, a window appears and asks me what app I want to use to open the email. Gmail is my default email, and Firefox is my default browser, and I use Windows 10. When I open the window of options (see attached screenshot) to open the email, and I then click "Choose Other Application" (other than Firefox), I don't see the Gmail app anywhere. I then followed the directions in that link above to check my Windows settings, per its suggestion, which I did ... but in those settings, too, I got to a point where the directions no longer matched what I'm seeing on my screen. I didn't see the Gmail app anywhere. Could you let me know in simple layperson's terms how to open Gmail links in Firefox? I don't have a PhD in computer science, so please keep it very simple. I just upgraded to Monterey on my Mac running FF 101.0.1 (64-bit). I cannot add new search engines to my list of search engines. I'm trying to add DuckDuckGo without success. I have Google, Bing and Startpage. I click on Find More Search Engines, select and add DuckDuckGo but while it appears as an extension it does not appear in the list of search engines.

I use an addon to mute all tabs by default. The problem is that muted tabs have the MUTED text, which shrinks the size of the tab name/title. My old eyes can't deal with that very well.

Is there any way to prevent this text from showing up globally? Thanks.

For ‘few a few weeks now the option to choose where to save files has failed, even with the latest 101.0.1 (64-bit) on windows 11 Home. Any ideas?

This evening I changed the default location to my data area, so at least it will hopefully defaulting to ms 'downloads' folder.

I'm running 101.0.1 and spell check no longer works on any mail app like Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, BT Mail. If I use Chrome or Edge then spell check works correctly. This is despite my Firefox Settings being as below.....

Language Choose the languages used to display menus, messages, and notifications from Firefox. ENGLISH GB Set Alternatives… ENGLISH GB Choose your preferred language for displaying pages. Choose… ENGLISH (United Kingdom) (en-gb) Check your spelling as you type = Tick (Yes)

Could you please advise a fix?

For some whatever-reasons (TLDR; I need to see the whole domain (including subdomains) clearly, unlike the default of only highlighting the TLD&second-level domains[1]) I want to disable the color-distinction which highlights TLD and second level domains.[2] Is there config to do so? If not where should I propose one?

[1]: for example ko.wikipedia.org and en.wikipedia.org will have wikipedia.org highlighted, and that's what I can't accept because ko.wikipedia.org (Korean) and en.wikipedia.org (English) is completely different site. (Some might say you can distinguish by language, but there are some English sites which shares the same domain on wikimedia.org, so you get the point here.) [2]: From the screenshot you can see only `wikipedia.org` is highlighted. I want to make it highlight all of en.wikipedia.org. (If I need to highlight everything including the site path below the TLD, I can accept that.)

Hi guys. So, I have Avira free antivirus. Can I still install for example Norton web security addon for Firefox? Will there be any problems between my installed antivirus and the Norton addon? Hello, I regularly open pdf files and other documents with local readers/writers by selecting the option "open with". My big issue is that the files are yes opened with the local reader, but they are also automatically downloaded in the "Download" folder.

Before files were stored in a temporary folder, and I would like to continue like that because my "Download" folder is exploding and it's a mess!

Or, at least, there should be an option to select where to download automatically the files when I select the "open with" option. So I can chose a folder that I now is to be trashed.

I use Mendeley Web Extension to pull articles and other things from Firefox directly into my Mendeley library. I will usually rapidly read through the PDF file online before deciding to add it or not. For some unknown reason, Firefox blocks the use of Mendeley on PDF file, for security reasons, and I can no longer add them to my library. Most references are only available as PDF files making the add-on completely useless. Is there a security feature that I can disable to be able to use the extension again?

Using Windows 11 and want to set Gmail as my mailto option when clicking on email links on websites. Under Firefox/Settings/Mailto I no longer see the option for Gmail, not an expert on technical matters so I have googled the problem but still can't find a solution. Do I need to find an App on Windows or perhaps an Extension within Firefox, feeling completely lost at the moment.

since updating to Firefox 99, we are unable to view PDF files in Firefox, because we are unable to select how to handle PDF files in the settings, cf. 1.PNG We don’t have any enterprise policies enabled except for disabling updates, cf. 2.PNG. We tried disabling hardware acceleration, but it did not help, cf. 3.PNG We tried safe mode and an empty user profile, both to no avail.

This problem seems to be irrespective of the user profile because when I roam my user profile to a machine with FF 93 ESR, there is no issue and I can view PDFs in the browser.

Is there any suggestion how to return the built-in PDF viewer?
