Since the recent update to FireFox (#85), bookmarks now save at the top of the Bookmarks list instead of underneath at the bottom of the list. What has changed? How to change it back? Also, I would like to eliminate the "Other Bookmarks" and "Mobile Bookmarks" folders but cannot. I never use these How to do I get rid of these? (Windows10 desktop)

When I try to create a New Bookmark I find that the folder has already been allocated. It is usually the last used folder number. Also, I am unable to cancel edit, or remove or perform any other changes. Going to Firefox safe mode or other recommendations makes no difference.

The problem happened for the first time last week and it was, strangely, only by doing a complete System Restore that I was able to get things back to normal. That seems like a severe remedy every time it happens. I would really appreciate help with this.

I've unfortunately had to formate my harddrive that had my local firefox profile on it without the opportunity to create a backup.

Is there any way to restore my bookmarks from my Firefox Account?

Since i got my Firefox account, i can't manage to sync my personal bar, each time i try to connect with another computer, there is nothing but id and passwords left, i got to manually add all personal bar bookmarks again. What can i do about this issue ?

when I create a new firefox bookmarks folder it has to chevron arrow to the left and can't be opened. It seems possible to add a new bookmark inside the new folder but its useless because the folder cannot be opened/contnts cannot be seen

in the screenshot below the top folder "gigs" has no chevron and cant be opened. "gear" and "music" are normal and fully functional.

I have 2 macs, experiencing this on both

I got a new computer and am moving my profile to new computer(W10 to W10). The old profile is 464MB, mostly in Storage/Default 234MB I think this is a lot and want to slim it down. I want to keep bookmarks and have it auto recall previous sites I have visited. Can I keep the bookmarks and auto recall, but delete some of the files? These files are big also, places.sqlite, webappstore.sqlite, favicons.sqlite Thank you very much.

Firefox prompted me to update. I did. Then I only had two choices: exit or create a new profile, and since exit did nothing but close the program, I did the second thing. Now all of my bookmarks are gone - that I rely on for work. I need specific step-by-step instructions on how to get those back. I looked through several of the FAQs on this and none where helpful. I did not have a Firefox folder put on my desktop. Losing these bookmarks will be a major issue. Please help!

Some time back, I had made a bookmark for a list of books. I cannot find it now on my list of bookmarks. (I have MANY bookmarks.) I'd like to search using the search term "book*.*" How would I do this? If this not a feasible way to find my lost bookmark, is there another way that might work?

Version 84.0.2. Windows 10. I inadvertently opened a second FF window which had no tabs and no bookmarks toolbar. I closed FF which had many open tabs and many bookmarks toolbar items. Now all tabs are lost and all toolbar entries are lost. On reopening FF, only the FF with no tabs and no bookmarks toolbar will open. I have searched and read many "solutions", but nothing that I can get to work. Does anybody actually know what can be done or that nothing can be done. I had not yet reinstalled my general backup program prior to this so there is no other backup and all I have to rely on is FF alone. Are at least the bookmarks toolbar items stored somewhere even if the tabs are not recoverable?

All bookmarks are there except for bookmarks toolbar items.

I would like to restore both tabs and the bookmarks toolbar if possible. If anything can be done, can anyone articulate some clear instructions?

2 Problems:

1) Each thime when I open firefox, the same 5 bookmarks open up automatically. How can i get rid of this?

2) I would like just one tab to open automatically, this is www.google.ch. When I set Google as my standard search engine it will open always google.COM and not .CH Can this be set somehow?

As you can see in attached GIFs, bookmarks in superior bookmark bar can be moved easily just as should be, but in additional bookmark field they can't be moved at all. I try to move them, but there is no "insert here" line appearing, and after I release my left mouse button it somehow opens the bookmark the cursor was on at the release moment. No matter fullscreen or windowed mode. I have custom "animated Codama" theme and some add-ons like "Midnight Lizard" and "uBlock", but disabling any of them doesn't help. Any ideas?

On 1/5/21 at about 1200 PST, Other Bookmarks popped up in my Toolbar. I am trying to remove it but have had no success. I deleted the one website that was in Other Bookmarks but it is still in my Toolbar. How do I remove, Other Bookmarks from my Toolbar?

When I try to manage bookmarks, I get a confusing hierarchy of bookmark folders that shows the same folder in multiple places, and I can't open it to see the subfolders. It totally confuses me. Naturally, I tried Firefox Help.

When I go to Firefox Help, I don't know how to enter search strings to narrow searches. Anything I enter gets me hundreds of topics, including strings attempting to find out how to narrow searches. Encasing strings in quotes does nothing.

Right now, I need help managing bookmarks. For the future, I need to know how to use Firefox Help correctly. Thanks.
