youtube has failed to open fr 2 weeks now, it was working well before but on opening it of recent, it displayed this message below till now yet other tabs open well and my internet connection is stable

Unable to connect

Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at www.youtube.com.

   The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
   If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection.
   If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the web.

I was having an odd issue the other day, that I now solved by comparing the settings on a working Firefox profile with mine.

For some reason, on one of my multiple Firefox profiles a list of web apps wasn't working. Among them were Discord, Miro Board, and Google Pay. I was suspecting that they all had the same issue, but didn't know what it was at that time.

The security settings were the obvious suspect (Ad-blockers, DNS, HTTPS enforcement etc.) because clearly something was being blocked, however nothing helped. The solution was in the Network settings. (See screenshot) I was using Manual proxy settings from the time I messed with I2P networks (or something similar).

I am not sure why having a proxy to localhost (127.0.0.1) on HTTP would somehow cause very specific major apps to stop working, while others keep working fine, but it happened to me anyway.

For anyone in a similar situation, with those particular apps not working, check your proxy settings.

Click on bookmarks, the drop-down menu appears, click or move cursor on an entry in the list, the new drop-down-menu of 2nd level appears. If the list contains many entries the 2nd level drop-down menu overrides 1st level. This does not happen with firefox preceding version. Note: attaching a picture because a webm video is not accepted.

Is Firefox blocking my access to certain websites? for example www.rt.com I'm able to access using a VPN which suggests Firefox is restricting my access.

When I try to visit a specific journal site that requires authentication, the browser automatically redirects me to an authentication page that I have used before. This is very annoying because every time I click a link to the journal, I’m sent to the other portal and can’t access the article. I want to stress that I haven’t installed any add‑on that would cause this redirection. I think I did that myself manually but I have no idea how. I’ve already deleted the cookies for both sites, but nothing has changed. I hope that makes sense, it’s a bit difficult to explain.

I'm using firefox 147.0, on mac Tahoe 26.2.

Why is firefox blocking the paypal popup??? I've tried all the solutions to get it to work, but it still does not work.

Went into Settings/Privacy & Security/Permissions, Block pop-ups and third-party redirects is selected, but I've added http://paypal.com and https://paypal.com to the exceptions

Version 147.0.3 (64-bit) Windows 11, current version No adblocks installed in firefox

The website WSJ has large areas on front page, including the opinion listing, are simply white and not 'there' on the page to click on. I've deleted their cookies without effect, tried turning off all adblockers, shut mac down to reboot, nothing seems to have an effect. This is a recent glitch of only several days, prior performance was great. Thanks!

I can no longer access my bank account login page. It says Error: Forbidden Your client does not have permission to get URL /login from this server. I can't find help and I'm totally frustrated. I AM NOT A COMPUTER TECH. I am just an end user and this is WAY WAY TOO COMPLICATED A PROCESS FOR ME

How do I clear this blocked site? This only happens on Firefox - not on other browsers, and, of course, there is no website person now at the Pirates I can connect to. It's obviously a safe site.
