Hello! I'd like to have the search engine field place just below the navigation field to make surfing easier and smoother :) Is this even possible?

I download a lot of PDFs and I organize them by file name. I'd like to be able to save them to my computer to read later. When I have a PDF open in the browser, this is particularly annoying. As it is, I have two options:

Save file: This automatically sends the file to a temp download folder, which Windows doesn't let me access without memorizing the exact location. It also automatically saves it under the default file name, which I never keep. If I use this option, I have to go back in and manually move the file to my documents and rename it.

Open file: This opens the file in a new Adobe window (while simultaneously saving it to the same temp folder). I have to open the file in the browser, then open it in a new window, then hit save as, then PDF, then change the destination folder (because the default is the temp folder) and the file name.

Please, just give me manual control over downloads! I just want a Save As option.

I chat in chat rooms from time to time and I find it bothersome when every time I start to type the computer starts to search for text. I have gone to firefox options and it is not enabled but search it does. Can you suggest a way that I can stop that from happening?

After reading the file http://dxr.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/services/healthreport/README.rst I created in about:config a new Boolean “datareporting.healthreport.service.enabled” (false) and then manually deleted other “datareporting” entries from prefs.js. Most of the entries haven’t reapeared. 2 have: user_pref("datareporting.healthreport.nextDataSubmissionTime", "1365184210363"); user_pref("datareporting.policy.firstRunTime", "1365097810363");

If you can think of a better way please let me know.

I know I can run the Beta and Nightly together on the same computer because they are installed in different directories. What I do then is that I have a Profile for each version. What I do is I run FireFox.exe -ProfileManager when I start either the Beta and Nightly builds.

My Question is can I also install the Aurora, Release Candidate and ESR versions on the same computer like I do with the Beta and Nightly? If so, how do I go about installing them in different directories? I will create new profiles for each version. What I then do is, copy everything in my original Profile to the newly create profiles so I can keep all my plugin/addons, themes, bookmarks, etc. the same.

Next question, (I think I know the answer but I just want to make sure) now can I sync my bookmarks from each of the different profiles that I created?

Secondly, I now I can do the ABOUT:CONFIG in the address bar of Firefox, does anyone have any idea where I can read up on what each entry means? Also, are there any other secrets in Firefox, similar to the ABOUT:CONFIG trick? I know of one app where you can do ABOUT:ME, but that's all I know.

I know this has been asked billions of times, but I also have to ask. Is there any chance at all that Firefox, Thunderbird, and/or Seamonkey will be ever release for the iOS from Apple? I know that it's impossible, but maybe someone MIGHT have some positive thoughts on this?

Lastly, I know this is off topic, but I'll give it a shot. I'm using Outlook 2013, does anyone know if Outlook can handle Newsgroups? The reason why I ask is because I've just learned that there are a ton of newsgroups for Firefox, ThunderBird, and SeaMonkey. I would like to, somehow, get those Newsgroups in Outlook 2013. I already get allot of the feeds for other things, so that's not a problem.

So our System admin forces upon us a really slow internal website as our Home page. Fortunately it is not that big of a problem in Firefox (as it's in IE, but who uses that?) since I've set the browser to start all last opened tabs and windows on a Firefox restart, but as soon as we start a new window, that page opens up and I hate that. Any way I can override these system forced settings? Whenever I change that back to about:blank or Firefox Start page, probably on next system restart or whenever the group policies are enforced again it's changed back to that slow website.

Since Firefox is open and highly customizable, I was thinking there might be a way to do that (I won't mind an add-on to do that). Thanks!

I upgraded to Firefox 20 and now my inspector is confined to the bottom of the viewport in an iFrame that I can pop out.

In previous versions, I could open up the CSS rules and box model visualization at the same time. This was one of the main reasons I considered the Firefox inspector superior to those of Opera, Chrome and Safari.

I can't seem to figure out how to do this now.. do I need to click between the box model and the rules or is there some way to revert to the old inspector layout or one that is more like it?

I'll code an add-on if I have to get this thing to work. Very disappointed that Firefox removed their old default inspector view.

Having recently updated Firefox to version 20.0.1 I get the compatibility check everytime and also the What's new page. Can you tell me how I turn these off, please.

When I sign in to aol.com home page, instead a page comes up that says search mozilla firefox on top and Bing on the right. I was able to remove the Bing tool bar but have been unable to remove the search mozilla firefox page. this is a new problem and I don't know how to solve it. Can you help?

For years my URL address on the Navigation Bar has stretched out far enough to allow most of the URL to show. Then, after a Reload Icon, the Search Engines (Bing, Dictionary, etc.) box would be about a third of the width that the URL box. After that, the rest of the bar is used for Home/Bookmarks/History/etc. Now, without knowing when it occurred, the URL Box is too narrow to see but a few letters of the URL that is entered and its drop down box is the same. I can find no way to widen it. All is working well, but I would like to have the displays appearing as before. I have kept up all the most recent version updates and have version 20 presently. I don't think this happened due to the update ------- at least not immediately. At the same time this occurred, my Bookmarks Toolbar vanished. I made sure the bar was checked, and manually put all the bookmarks I had back in. It is OK now. I thought way back that one could put the cursor at a point on the side of the Navigation Bar's boxes and get an arrow icon that would extend or narrow the boxes. I am not sure of this, but I know it doesn't work that way now. Any help would surely be appreciated! Thank you.

The add-on 'take a break' sounded like something I needed so I got the add-on but don't seem to see an icon or anything like it.....any advice would be appreciated.....:)

Hallo, I want to give away my old desktop PC. Before doing that I want to clear up everything installed on it. I've been told I can do this by reformatting the PC. How do I go about this. Many thanks in advance for any help. For infos sake - I'm not a tech savvy person, need step by step instructions. vaswolter

when ever I use the mouse to click on the home or back button on my browser, it would get distorted the arrow or home picture 'break' up and have these lines and white blanks until i roll the mouse arrow over it again sometimes. it just started doing this out of no where and i dont know why.

tried with Active Word, but did not work because of missing possibility to jump (per script) to Content in Options menu... Manually doing what the script is supposed to do works fine, but running the script leaves Java script option unchanged

I use a Mac desktop version 10.6.8. On advice from my ISP and Apple advisers they said uninstall Firefox and then reinstall a new version and that should not have Alot as the opening page. Have tried this several times following online instructions but each time the new version opens with Alot!

I am still on Firefox v. 11. I have installed later versions, and reverted back to v. 11, because all the later versions did not allow me to copy and paste images/pictures from emails. Did Firefox correct this problem definitively in their latest version?
