Ok, I've resolved this in the past, several version of Firefox ago, under windows. Firefox crashes silently, open it again and no tabs are restored. Open firefox again and look in recently closed windows and the one with my tabs is not there, only little utility windows that are popped up when I log in at the coffee shop, so my recently closed windows are overwritten with windows with no tabs.

So I go to my profile sessionstore-backups folder and copy it to the desktop. I have 6 files, previous.jsonlz4, recovery.baklz4, and recovery.jsonlz4 at around 8 megs in size. I copied each to the folder one level up and renamed them sessionstore.jsonlz4, and each time restarted firefox. All that opens is a blank tabbed firefox window.

There was never an existing sessionstore.jsonlz4 file anywhere I could find, even with firefox closed, this file never appears anywhere I could find it. Searching files with Windows was also unsuccessful.

I feel like I have captured the files with my tabs, based on the date modified, several were from before the crash. Why can't I find a working tutorial on how to restore my tabs? Nothing I've found on the support site works though I follow the directions exactly.

I have been using Simple Tab Groups (STG) for a long time now. I am curious if putting tabs into groups saves any resources, i.e. is only the open group using resources (CUP/RAM), or is STG purely organizational in that all the tabs still use the same amount of resources as if they weren't grouped? If it is the latter, do you know of an add-on that would save resources? Thanks

If I am on a web site and click a link to another page on the same website Firefox opens a new tab rather than displaying it in the existing tab. How do I get Firefox to NOT do this?

I accidentally closed both of my Firefox windows with an "x" and the rebooted my computer. After the reboot there is nothing under "History"->"Recently closed windows" and "Recently closed tabs". Is there any way to get my windows back?

After updating to Windows 11, all my Firefox webpages backgrounds are colored black even after choosing a light theme which only changes bookmarks and toolbar to white. I want white background like my old Firefox ?

My computer crashed while updating from Windows 10 to Windows 11. Unfortunately, I had someone look at it and he formatted my hard drive and only did a partial backup of files. I thought my Mozilla Firefox account was syncing, but it seems like it did not happen in a while. Does anyone know if there's any hope in recovering the lost tabs and bookmarks? Hello, Firefox somehow crashed. Opening did not reinstall the tabs. This has happened couple of times in the past 10+ years and I was able to recall from History to reinstall the Tabs. Now I don't see that function in the Menu. Please help. I know there is a time limit to re-install them.

I have a spreadsheet with links. I need to open multiple links in the order they are in the spreadsheet.

When I select multiple links and click "option+return", the links open in the opposite order.

I would expect the first link to the on the left and the second link to be on the right.

Is there anything I can do to make this happen?

Everytime I have to close my pc with updates or if I just close/ restart it or if it crashed and I have to restart everything, all my most recent tabs (when I do restore last session) are gone but I get all the tabs back from weeks or even months ago. It's very annoying especially I do research and study. I really don't understand. It's like going back in time every time it starts again  :( What is happening ?

I have just started using Firefox and ticked that every internet tab is Firefox but every time I click new tab, it states "search with google or enter address" I cannot get into about:config to then get to browser.newtabpage.pinned How do I get rid of this Google message?

I am using Firefox 119.0.1 under Windows 10 Home Version 22H2 OS build 19045.3693

I had the page open in Firefox before the owner corrected the typo.

Immediately after the correction was online, all other browsers displayed the corrected version. But even now, hours later, after many resets by "Reload Tab", the Firefox tab still displays the typo-version.

I consider this to be a malfunction. "Reload tab" should bypass all caches, and reload the whole page directly from its server. - Is this a known bug? - If "Reload Tab" does not go to the source bypassing all caches, what doe it do? - Is there a workaround?

I am hopeful you will be able to help me. All open tabs NOW disappear after power failure or Comcast temporarily loses service or I restart my computer. This never happened to me before ~ if my computer was affected by outage or I manually restarted it a message came up to click on asking if I wanted my tabs restored. 1 click and they were restored ~ that option is not available to me now. It's frustrating and time consuming for me to "look" for, and "try" to find those tabs I had open. If someone does respond to my question I won't know its been done unless I receive an email because I'm not certain I can find my way back to this support page, primarily because I cannot remember HOW I even found this page in the first place! I'd like to turn off the recommended articles that I see when opening new tabs. I find them to be quite bothersome, and the link pocket provides to learn more about this features a nonexistent article on how to disable these recommendations. Could you help me disable these?
