Google docs now gives the following message when using the spreadsheet function: U geeft Google Documenten momenteel weer in standaard HTML. Schakel over naar een ondersteunde browser om Google Documenten in realtime te bewerken en te delen. Saying it is not compatible with 3.6.12 Twitter is not posting tweets anymore. Other browsers on the same laptop work fine.

I just downloaded the latest 3.6 version of Firefox on both machines

Any link or button which is processed with Javascript causes firefox to hang. Its window doesn't responsing, however, after some seconds, a small window (that seems like a js-alert window) is shown. This window has 2 buttons, but there's no text in a whole window. Window's title in taskbar is just "Untitled window". If i close this window, firefox hangs again for a few seconds (the main window is having artifacts of other windows until that small window will be shown again)

In certain cases, after i kill the main window process, there is appeared the requested by link window.

I've got these bugs on Gmail options page, for example (but that trouble finding me everywhere on the net, on forums, sites, portals etc.)

I've tried to disable all the plugins, remove my ~/.mozilla, rebuilding firefox – no results.

Firefox is built on Gentoo linux OS. `emerge --info firefox` can be found here: http://pastie.org/1318950

Because of eye problems, I have a very hard time seeing these icons. In fact, I can't. I just figured they had to be there and moused over them. While this works for me, I am building this box to donate to a nursing home where many residents have worse eyesight than mine, and no familiarity with computers. Is there a way to darken the color of the icons? Thanks.

I just finished manually upgrading Firefox on an old machine running openSUSE 10.2; I decided against upgrading my OS because this is the only version in which my Olympus MAUSB-10 picture card reader works. In order to do this, I had to compile and install GLib 2.12 and ATK 1.32; all other dependancies were already included in this version of Linux. And I am currently running KDE, although GNOME is also installed. Firefox 2.0.0 is also installed on this machine.

Although the browser works fine from my home directory (I am using it right now to fill-out this form.), whenever I click on Edit and then Preferences, I find that this window comes-up blank. Could anyone please tell me how I might fix this problem?

Thanks in advance! ;)

I have used the following docs to try to accomplish my task: https://developer.mozilla.org/En/A_Brief_Guide_to_Mozilla_Preferences https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Automatic_Mozilla_Configurator/Locked_config_settings

I wish to add proxy settings for all users, including those who already have profiles. I have tried adding to greprefs/all.js directly, using a mozilla.cfg file, all exactly as in the documents. But none of these things make a difference. Any more quidance would be SO appreciated!

I am using the latest RHEL5.5 and 3.6.13.

I'm so certain I posted this a couple of weeks ago but I can't find it so here goes again.

I'm running Firefox 3.6.13 that came with Ubuntu (10.10).

When I use a word like flavor, the spell-checker underlines it with squiggles and suggests "flavour". Similarly for behavior and some other words. I recognize (that just got sqiggled; it wants "recognise) as being the British spelling convention. I have downloaded the United States English Spellchecker 5.01 but that was of no avail. I finally thought of looking into about:config and found: spellchecker.dictionary set to en_AU - that is, the Australian dictionary.

I can't just blindly set this to en-US without knowing that: - That is the correct name for the dictionary I need. (Seems probable.) - That the above extension is indeed the dictionary it would access.

I note that the Australian dictionary is spelled en_AU - with an underscore - while the US dictionary is spelled en-US - with a dash. This is the kind of stuff I need to watch out for, because if I mess it up, I may not be able to restart FireFox.

Thanks for help here.

On Debian installed SUN-JAVA6-JRE and IA32-SUN-JAVA6-BIN and vanilla Firefox 3.6.6

Followed instructions to create symlink libjavaplugin.so -> /usr/lib/jvm/ia32-java-6-sun-1.6.0.20/jre/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so in ~/.mozilla/plugins, but restarting firefox and about:plugins does not show Java plugin.

Also created symlink in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins, and in firefox install dir /usr/local/firefox/plugins. but none of this solved the issue.

Please advise

Having the option to save cookies and all other stuff already enabled, I log on into several sites (e.g. gmail).

When for some reason I restart the app, the website prompts me to fill in my log in details again. The strange thing is that on my desktop PC, it appears to have exactly the same settings however in that case saving or using the saved cookies actually works.

Might that be an Ubuntu problem? I do not know. But some profile settings are being reseted any time I open the app.

Any ideas?

Thanks

To understand why I'm making this ? you need to know the following:

  1. 1 I'm using a VAIO notebook that has no hdd, so I'm booting up from a Lucid Puppy 5.8 live cd;
  2. 2 have a 128MB CFCard with 2 versions of FF, a PET (not updated) & FF ver 3.6.13 that I recently downloaded & unzipped (because thought it was going to contain an updated ver od Flash - which is the one I'm using right now);
  3. 3 as you might already see, every time I start-up the system have to login to every site again & sometimes check for login-data for certain sites which I don't visit often.

I understand that if, before I shutdown the system, I save these data the next time I'll be taken faster to those sites without having to remember all the login data. I'm interested in saving the cookies, a Master PWD & the individual pwds for the sites. Any other data that you know of & you point out that'll be needed for my purposes that I'm not aware of will be appreciated. Thanks in advanced for any help on this! PS. This OS runs from RAM (which is at 512MB).

Hi!

Every once in a while, Firefox slows down tremendously, the CPU useage (for Firefox) goes beyond 95pct and there is a lot of disk actuvuty. Then after about a minute, it resumes to normal.

What is Firefox doing? Is this normal/expected behaviour? Can I "help" Firefox if it needs to have something cleaned up?

I use Arch Linux.

Thanks
