I wanted to bump this as I never received a satisfactory answer for the reason behavior was changed and it is still something that feels like a UX regression.

I need to prove to my university that I was on their Moodle site on a certain date. Is there a way for me to prove this using Firefox data? I don't think I have emptied my history since. I need the date and perhaps a time.

I seem to have a problem with the dates in my browser. This has caused the weAutoPagerize add-on to stop working properly. This add-on to connects to a database to update itself. The problem, as the attached image indicates, is that my browser tells the add-on that the date is 12/31/1969, which means that it cannot be updated.

I've also tried the uAutoPagerize add-on, which uses the same database, and has the same problem.

It seems this problem originated when I had to restore my system. However, I already checked the date and time on my computer, and they are correct. It should be noted that this problem only occurs in my portable Firefox. In my desktop version any of the two add-on mentioned above work normally.

What could I do to fix this problem?

A website that I am always able to access is coming up as Not Secure and Firefox will not let me in. It has never been a problem before. Can you please let me know how to fix. Thank you.

When I have browsed and then click yahoo mail, get message saying "page not available...the requested page is not available on mail" Then a blue box saying "go to inbox" When I check that box, I get my yahoo mail inbox. HELP.. how do i get this gone??

I have been having the issue that if i right click on a link to open it in a new tab, the tab opens the page BUT doesn't load 90% of the page. i am on facebook - i right click on a friend to look at their page and the page doesnt load. i thought this was facebook issue but it is happening on other websites that i use (for real estate purposes) FYI i have 200MB up and down internet speeds.i have even cleared the history and restarted the computer. there are no new updates to install. there are no other programs in the background running. my ram and cpu speed are beyond normal laptops.

I use firefox and duckduckgo exclusively.

I bought into the new offerings on security.

Half way through the Authy install on my Mac desk top, I have a screen with a security code that refreshes in less than a minute.

But the screen does not say where the code must be entered. (!! *&^%^&&* !!)

The 'help' on authy is terrible. I guess this has never happened to anyone else. (NOT)

Is there anyone on this side who can relate to an old guy who longs for the command line days and really did not welcome the coming of windows?

In other words, I get tech stuff, but not the stuff that thinks its helpful when its not.

Anyone understand this?

I have an issue with programs that change my settings without my permission. Every now and then the print dialog screen is changed and I have to go to about:config and reset the "print_tab modal to "false", I think. I say that because neither setting fixes the problem.

Any Ideas?

I have a problem with Firefox 97.0 where I cannot access a networking switches web interface.

The network is setup with a wireless router connected to two switches - switch_1 and switch_2.

I am connected to the router via wifi and can ping both switches and get a response from both. If I try to access web interface at switch_1 I am ok but when I try to access web interface of switch_2, I get a 'The connection has timed out' error.

There are no plug-ins or extensions in Firefox and the web interface is located on a local IP address 192.168.1.12 for switch_1 and 192.168.1.13 for switch_2.

Both switches are the same make, model and have the same latest firmware installed.

I have tried accessing the web interface of both switches from Internet Explorer too and I can access both.

I have also tried another computer and can access web interfaces on both switches from Firefox and Internet Explorer, so now points to a Firefox issue on a specific computer.

Both computers anti-virus and firewall are configured the same and have even been disabled but I get the same behaviour from both switches using both browsers on both computers - so, protection does not appear to be a factor.

So, the problem lies with Firefox refusing to connect to one web interface on a specific computer. I'm not aware of any settings which would prevent this.

Does anyone have any ideas.

I have years of websites saved on pocket, which I paid for. My pocket account has a different email than my firefox account. How do I change my login form pocket to firefox?

Firefox is really, really insistent upon putting its downloads into /run/user/$USERID/doc/$TEMPID. If I select "ask me" then it puts it there by default and I have to struggle with that nasty directory selector app to choose another place. If I select "Downloads", then it puts it into that temporary directory anyway (neener, neener). I looked up a support solution and it said to fiddle the browser.download.scanWhenDone value. There ain't no such a thing. Perhaps that's Windows only. There is a value for browser.download.lastDir, but it is that TEMPID thing. Those directories are removed upon download completion, so that directory (and the file) no longer exists.

Okay. This whole thing is beyond my abilities to tame. My preference is "use last directory" -- but only if it actually remembers correctly. Otherwise, save into ~/Downloads. And for God's sake, *NEVER* delete a file that I've gone to the trouble of downloading!

After updating to version 97.0, firefox does not display all images (on websites). I've searched web and all the solutions I found mention to open the security icon (up left -the lock), go to more information - permissions - and "Make sure Allow is selected next to Load Images". But there isn't such an option at permissions.

When I go to media tab (before permissions at the same window) I can download all images of the page (and then I can see them all), but on the website I can see only a few.

Could you please help me?

I posted this very same headline about seven months ago and a contributor called jscher2000 provided an awesome solution:-

In short it involved Double-clicking the browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.newNewtabExperience.enabled preference to switch the value from true to false

It instantly solved the problem of having tiny little icons surrounded by a HUGE border of wated white space - the result of an "upgrade".

Alas, I made the mistake of allowing FF to upgrade again and now the tiles are shrunk back to a level where people like me who are blind as a bat, cannot really see what the icons are any more.

I checked and the original solution is still set to "FALSE", but Firefox is now ignoring that.

I realise that someone has decided this looks "cooler" or "sleeker" so we should have no choice in the matter anymore, - it's just a shame that it is also far harder for people with grotty vision. The obsession with changing things from clear and simple to "smart but difficult" seems so silly.

Other than re-installing an older version and not making the mistake of letting it "upgrade" to a less useful version again, is there anything I can do to make it so I can still actually SEE the contents of the tiles - other than buy stronger glass and get used to even more wasted white-space?

Is there are new way to fix the broken "improvement" please ?
