is it possible to make this opened site/s bar smaller,less wilde ,see my screenshot, this one by : nieuw tabblad like using fonts in about:config. the internet bar i find ok.

I'm not exactly sure what this is called. Maybe it's in the cache, but I don't know. One of the fastest timesavers I have is that I use the Firefox url feature that makes suggestions as soon as I start typing a url. I pull up dozens, possibly hundreds of articles that I refer to frequently this way, so that I don't have to bother bookmarking them. I don't clear the cache, to keep these references from disappearing. I have to move computers now. My longtime mac is not working well anymore. Is there any way to bring these url suggestions with me when I migrate? Thank you.

I have just installed V.100 and have come across a small problem. I can't sign into 'The Canberra Times' site. The option to sign in is missing from their home page. It is there using MS Edge or Chrome and I can login to the site on those two browsers. This does not seem to be a problem with other websites that I have tried since the new version!

I can't even begin to imagine what might be going on with a situation like this! Thanks.

This is a very bizarre problem. Basically I can't install any Firefox addon neither on my desktop OR may laptop. I noticed this issue just couple of days ago. When I try to install any addon normally, from a link, it tells me that the addon can't be installed because the file is corrupt. Tried several addons, all same problem. On my desktop AND on my laptop. On my desktop I'm running ver. 103, but on my laptop I still had ver. 102.1, so there is no Firefox update issue. When I try to install addon from xpi file, it tells me that I have no permission to open that file and that's it. I tried to take ownership of that file but it didn't solve the issue I tried to disable my AV program, but it didn't do anything. On my laptop, I tried to refresh FF, no help. I tried to start FF in safe mode, same problem. I created new profile, same issue. Eventually, I totally uninstalled FF, removing program itself, removing Appdata folder and even registry entry. Installed fresh copy of FF, same problem exists. Then, I noticed one thing. When I tried to sync fresh FF installation on my laptop, it synced everything, EXCEPT for addons. So, something is preventing me doing anything regarding addons. Themes install just fine. I've struggling with this problem since yesterday and at this point I totally ran out of any fresh ideas how to solve this issue, thus posting here. I'll appreciate any fresh idea as what to do next. I get no warning when auto updates begin installation. I get notified about 1/2 way through the process. The pc (Win 10 pro 64bit) slows to a crawl for 5-10 minutes, then the install finishes, & then it's another 5-10 minutes before the pc is usable.

I would really appreciate a "update is available" notification, which I would agree to at a convenient time. This is really getting to be problematic. Other browsers that do auto updates don't hose my pc.

My old 2009 MacBook Pro broke, got fixed, and now the backup won't transfer. So I need a new Firefox.

OS X El Capitan V10.11.6 is the latest this old computer will handle. On the mozilla.org download page, the app on the .dmg that gets downloaded says it wants OS X 10.12 or later.

I'd appreciate your suggestions.

Hi, I have some issue on the new updates on Version 101.0.1 (64 bit) Firefox auto-download all my files even when I am in view mode. Is there a way to disable this feature?

When I installed version 103 on Windows 10 yesterday, the Tabs, address panel row of icons and the onscreen bookmarks icons doubled in size pushing about half of them off screen. Can I get them back to the size the were?

I keep them on screen to facilitate use and work more effectively. Pushing them off screen reduces the effectiveness of Firefox for me. I spent too much time today trying to find options that would allow me to revert to the former format without uninstalling v.103 - without success.

HELP!!!!

Firefox was lagging everywhere: scrolling, switching folders in bookmarks, switching windows, switching tabs, opening settings, scrolling in settings...just everywhere. So I tried downgrading to v. 113. After downgrading via the ling in settings it still showed v. 114. I uninstalled firefox entirely and downloaded the loader for v 112. I installed it and it went thru whole install process to the point of asking to close and start Firefox. It didn't start. When I clicked on the icon it gave me a prompt that it didn't point to anything and asked if I wanted to delete it. I looked in program files folder but didn't find a folder for Firefox or Mozilla. I installed the developer edition and it worked but I don't want dark dev ed. Please help!

Hi, I received this error message today-- error: platform version '111.0.1 is not compatible with minVersion >= 111.0 maxVersion <= 111.0

I tried restarting my machine. Same error so I tried to do a refresh of Firefox and I got the same error before the refresh started. So I tried to uninstall and it won't unistall...gets the same error message.

Any ideas? Thanks Amy

At least under linux, 'firefox' is now a directory in 108.0. For 106.0.5 and many versions prior, it was an executable.

Windows 10, Firefox will not load URLs or settings page. Uninstalled Firefox and downloaded a new copy. Upon install system error message attached appeared but browser appeared with all my bookmarks and loading error message (attached with bookmarks erased). New pages will not load.

If I want to do a 'clean' install of MS Windows - Windows 11 Pro v 22H2 (Build 22621.1485) - where are FF's sttings stored & how do I restore them after the re-install?

i recently lost my computer to destruction. i have a number of files saved by Mozilla backup on a thumbdrive. i have several backup files dating from 2014 all the way until now. after re-installing Firefox on a new computer, i tried MozBackup to restore my old Firefox from the latest file dated a coupla of months ago this year. the files have names like Firefox 16.0.2 (en-US) - 2013-01-05.pcv or .pfc. when i tryt and load it into backup it saysit isn't a valid backup file. how can i get this to work?

I have a new chromebook (Lenova Duet 3) I can install and use Firefox. I have had Dashlane (password keeper) working fine with Firefox for years. The Dashlane extensions work with Chrome, but I can't seem to get them to work with Frefox. The Chrome search engines choices are limited; ones that I never use with Firefox. Is there something in the Chromebook environment that limits firefox capabilities? (Am I looking for something that just is not possible?) Is there a work around? (Any Linux tricks?) I also have asked the same question of Dashlane, but have not heard back yet. My imperfect solution is use Chrome when it is a known website, and the password is recorded with Dashlane, and to use Firefox for new searches, where the choice of search engines is better.

Has anyone developed a search engine where there are no "sponsored" results. I understand that it would probably not be free.
