I like to keep shortcuts to my favorite, most often used sites on the New Tab page. One of them, to Yahoo, keeps disappearing, and is replaced by sites that I do not visit very often. How can I recreate a shortcut on my new Tab page to get me to Yahoo Finance?

I uploaded an image of my New Tab page as it currently exists. I used to have Yahoo where the "prime-genetics" shortcut appears. I want to get rid of that one and replace it with Yahoo. Thanks!

Hello. This issue happens only with steamdb.info. The favicon on the tab is correct but the one on the bookmark is not. Why are they different? It also happens with a brand new profile or on another PC. I'm on Windows 10. Thank you for the help.

In the past, when I wanted to save a bookmark I could choose a specific folder to save it to. So for example, if I found a newsource that I wanted to bookmark to my News folder I would click on Bookmarks, Bookmark Current Tab and a dialogue box popped up that allowed me to choose the folder to save the bookmark to. This dialogue box no longer opens when I click on Bookmark Current Tab. Instead, all bookmarks are automatically saved to my Other Bookmarks folder and I have to drag them to the folder I want. I'm not exactly sure if this change happened with a Firefox update, or if I did something to change the process. Is there a way that I can fix this and have the choose a folder dialogue box pop up when I save a folder? Thanks for your help, Jeff

Hey, i just came home from work, started firefox and got suprised by the latest update...and another suprise. My entire Firefox got WIPED, i mean.. EVERYTHING. booksmarks, passwords, settings. I'm sitting here with an totally clean, like new installed firefox...and i'm angry AF right now.

I updated the operative system on my laptop but, when I opened Firefox and signed into my profile, it didn't import my old bookmarks, only the browsing history. Passwords and other data are all there, only the bookmarks are gone.

Is there a way to get them back?

Fix this issue from your end. Provide a support phone number to call in to fix it. I do all of the suggestions written but it doesn't work. I go thru a 15 minute process trying to log on and sometimes it works and they magically show up and other times, like now. No bookmarks. This is ridiculous. There is no support, you are asking for volunteers to offer support. This seems totally screwed up. Fix it!

When I try to make a bookmark none of my folders are showing. I can use the folders when linking to a bookmark but not when trying to place a new bookmark. I have many folders but the attached image shows what I get when trying to choose the correct folder to place the bookmark. Only the three options show even though I know all my folders are in the pulldown bookmark tab. I did have a computer glitch where many of my computer files somehow ended up in the trash including Firefox. I moved the trashed files into a new folder on my desktop and was able to recover the bookmarks by choosing the Firefox backup. My question is how do I get the existing folders to once again show when making a bookmark so I can place/organize the bookmark in the correct bookmark file?

Hi! I did a "refresh" on firefox. How do I recover my bookmarks and passwords? There is a folder on my desktop named "OLD FIREFOX DATA" but I have no clue how to use the information contained in said folder.

For some reason my Bookmark Tool Bar no longer displays anything. It is a blank strip across the top of the screen. However all of my bookmarks can be displayed on the right or left side of the screen in a vertical format. I can not find a way to repopulate the original Bookmark Tool Bar and find the current display very awkward give the number of bookmarks I have on file. Is this a result of an intentional upgrade or software failure?

I have my book marks in a side menu. Recently that side menu disappeared and when I click on the menu to install it again my bookmarks are not there and have been replaced with a bunch of stuff I don't use. new firefox user trying to migrate from chrome i want to bookmark my trello board but it is not using the right icon. it is using the generic trello icon instead of the one that is actually visible when i have them open. i use 3 different trello boards and need all 3 to be distinguishable only by the icon so this is a critical feature for me to be able to use this browser. this problem doesn't happen in chrome which i have been using. i have tried many extensions to try to locate the image that is actually being used, it doesn't work. i can't find the image being downloaded. how do i get the same icon that is showing in the tab to show up in the bookmarks bar?

I had to downgrade Firefox. Before I did I created a new profile so we would not lose the old bookmarks. Now Firefox downgraded and no bookmarks or profile. Then I upgraded back to the latest Firefox and still no profile or old bookmarks. Can anyone suggest where they might be?

I've tried restoring bookmarks from a Western Digital "My Passport" backup to a new installation (on a new computer) of Firefox following the old computer "dying." The post https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1265148 allows me to select the files to restore, but isn't able to copy them from the backup. ...any ideas? (I'll try posting this on the WD website as well.)

I can't get the "Other" bookmarks folder to go away.

I tried right-clicking on the folder & the context menu didn't show up. I tried about:config & changed the value to false. That didn't work.

I closed the browser after changing the boolean value to false & then restarted the browser. That didn't help.

I don't want to mess things up. I can't change the name of the folder. I was hoping that renaming the folder & then deleting it would solve the problem.

How do I hide the "Other" folder & the "Bookmarks Menu" folder?

I have a Mac if that helps any.
