I have downloaded the beta 5 version and for some odd reason I cant play sounds anymore, even after I downgraded back to version 4 - youtube.com plays videos but no sound. I have all latest flash plugins installed. sound works on all other browsers

After submitting a form (say a search form) and then clicking on a link on the results ("action") page I wish to go back to the form page and change the form criteria. However, when I hit the back button Firefox always wants to re-post the form data before I can go back any further in the history. Very clunky. Is there a way to prevent this re-post and just have it open the cached page?

Google Chrome does this nicely by just displaying a page in lieu of the form's "action" page that gives you the option to re-submit or you can simply click back to go back to the form page. I don't think Firefox should force you to resubmit a form if you are just trying to navigate backwards through your history.

I used to get around this by using the split back button to choose the form page directly, but the FF4/FF5 default navigation buttons don't have this any longer (that I can find anyway).

Is there an about:config setting that will prevent this forced re-submit?

I am using 5.0b2. At some time during b2, I switched from the Beta update channel to the Release update channel. Today 5.0 final is out and Firefox won't update saying "Your version of Firefox is up to date".

I updated to Firefox 5, under the help button in the browser "about Firefox" shows the new version, but my shortcut buttons on my monitor still show "Firefox 4.0 Beta 10". Most updates also update the shortcut buttons. Is there a way I can do this?

I downloaded FF 4 and now 5 and with neither my screen looks nothing like it shows on the FF page. For instance, I do not have the orange FF tab in the upper left corner, I have no option of "pin as app" nor do I have Panorama. Can someone please help me?

I just upgraded to Firefox 5 and found that it does not support the Google toolbar, which I need. Until Firefox 5 supports this toolbar, I want to return to the previous release of Firefox. How do I do this?

Hi, I've just updated to 5.0 and have done a bit of customising but I need to change the bookmark toolbar font colour. I cannot locate the Chrome directory or the UserChrome.css file. So.... how do I change it?

I was a beta tester for Firefox 4, but I want to stay with stable releases that are compatible with my plugins for now. Each time I start Firefox 4.01, it pompts me to update to beta 5.0, which it refers to as an important security and stability update. I believe 4.01 is the most up-to-date general release, and I'd like Firefox to stop prompting me to update to a beta.

I use LJlogin so many times throughout the day that it is necessary that I have this plugin. I updated when firefox asked me to update and now I can't find a place to download the old Firefox so I can still use this plugin. I am on a Mac OSX v 10.5.8

Actually, I meant left side. I just updated to Firefox 5 and the left hand vertical column with my bookmarks disappeared. That's how I wander through the web. I can't find a way to put it back.

I had this problem with Firefox 4.x -- and I just upgraded to FF5, but the issue still exists.

What happens is, when I've surfed to more than one page (or site) on a tab, then want to go back, I find that my Back button history often has multiple versions of the most recent page loaded, so that when I press the Back button once, it does nothing. Instead, I have to hold the button to display all of that tab's recent history, in order to return to the page that immediately preceded the current page.

Could this be an issue with a plugin, that's loading the page multiple times, or something? It's certainly an annoyance.

Google chrome has a feature, i log in with my google account, i click synchronize and it automaticly synchronizes all of my bookmarks, history, downloads info, themes, plugins and everything else on a new computer running google chrome every time i log in with my google account, they have an option even that if someone knows my google account password, it requires another password to unlock the sync proccess, as a suplimentary protection. Is there a buil it feature or plugin for firefox 5 that could help me do that on other computers, i have a Nokia N78 and it doesn't run firefox on it, i do have however a laptop computer, a desktop computer for home use and severeal PC's at work that I would like to sync them between each other with firefox.

if i type a URL into the address bar i.e. google.com and press enter firefox wont start loading the page, i have to go manually click the green arrow, it worked before in 4.0 or whatever the previous version was

Installation instructions in FAQ are no longer current at Adobe's download site. Downloaded correct version of Flash and ran install program. Program knew it was installing in FF and asked that I shut off FF. Did so and program ran, saying install completed, but plugin does not appear in list and cannot run speedtest.net, which asks for v.10 of Flash.
