Why do I have to run Firefox in Troubleshoot mode to see any web links? If I don’t, the info displayed is all garbled.

There has been suggested a work-around remedy but since i am computer-challenge i prefer to wait and let FF do Its Job as it has done so wonderfully in past as i have used it for decades.
