Dear Firefox Support Team, I recently had to reboot my laptop, which unfortunately caused me to lose all my previous Firefox data. Fortunately, I made a copy of the old Firefox data folder from my previous installation and saved it on a secondary drive. However, I’ve encountered an issue — the copied data appears to be encrypted, and Firefox is now treating me as a new user. As a result, I’m unable to access my previous bookmarks, browsing history, and other saved information. Could you please advise me on how to recover and decrypt this data, and how to transfer it to my current Firefox profile or sync it with my Mozilla Firefox account? I recently received a note from firefox tat I had done something wrong and that is why I lost y bookmark option. I em wondering what exactly it was that I did wrong. I EM IN THE PROCESS OF UPGRADING MY COMPUTER TO WINDOWS 11. I hope you can help me with this issue. If not, I will not take you with me on my new computer.

Hi, somehow I managed to delete the Firefox account I've used forever. Is there any way you can reload the details of that account? I've downloaded another Firefox but there are no saved items, bookmarks, etc. Totally disgusting, but I can't somehow sign into the old account as my password manager does not currently have the right password, only the password I just made up for the new account. All my Windows have closed except one. I have gone to 'History' and then wanted to access 'Recently closed windows' but this is grey and inactive. Everything else in History is active.

I need to restore the Windows I have lost because there is some important health care info that I need plus many other things.

Please help.

So a funny story happened today, I used CC cleaner to help clean my PC now I have it set up so it does not touch Mozilla in anyway yet after an update those settings got wiped and when I used the program it wiped out everything I had in Mozilla, history, saved passwords, tabs, EVERYTHING.

The last time I made a backup to my bookmarks was 6 months ago, a lot has changed since then, I tried to use the restore function however those also got wiped out, so I decided to use the old bookmarks, yet it doesn't work, for some reason it tells me that it doesn't have any bookmark data in the file yet Chrome can read and import the bookmarks from the file, if I try importing stuff from Chrome it also comes up empty, as an experiment I made a new export from Mozilla and tried to import it and got the same error. I still have 2 bookmarks and those can't be deleted no matter what I do, I kept trying to delete them however they are stuck there no matter what I try. This laptop is a new one I got on the cheap after my laptop had a problem with it's hard drive, I made the backup right before the switch.

Does anyone have any ideas about what exactly happened and keeps happening?

Firefox just updated and ALL of my bookmarks are gone. There is NOTHING. WTF? I am not a computer person so reading help articles just makes my head spin and of course I can't reach a real live person at Mozillabold text. Can anyone help?

Meine Lesezeichen sind aufgrund irgendeiner angeblichen Virensoftware komplett verschwunden, auch die Leiste wird nicht mehr angezeigt. Speichern bzw. ein Lesezeichen hinzufügen kann ich auch nicht mehr und geändert habe ich nichts an irgendeiner Software. Der Strom ist ausgefallen, habe neu gestartet und weg waren sie. Neuinstallation und immer noch der gleiche Fehler. Virensoftware ausgeschaltet, trotzdem noch. Profil ist auch nicht geändert. Ich habe alles mögliche versucht, aber ich finde den Fehler nicht.

I was using a private window (a non private window wasn't open at the same time) with a ton of important tabs open when Firefox crashed. I desperately need these tabs back, is there some way to restore this session?
