After today's Firefox update (7/30/26), I can't activate DuckDuckGo search. When I type a search in the URL bar, if i select a bookmarked URL, it will launch the bookmarked URL. However, if I select a search query (ex. "sonicare toothbrush" in attached pic #1), it won't allow me to press enter to launch a search.

Under Settings, when I click on "Activate" DuckDuckGo search (attached pic #2), nothing happens.

Recently any search I do via Firefox tab is automatically taken over by Yahoo and I'm not aware I ever sanctioned this and I don't want this to happen as normally Google was doing the searches. Thank you

This small but negatively impactful change is wrecking my workflow. Can anyone help with a userChrome.css fix to restore the old functionality?

Added by FF - poor move on FF part. Unlike others, can't be removed any of the "traditiona" about: methods.

Need to have it go - we DO NOT want this used here.

Over the years I've added dozens of additional search engines; periodically I've "archived" lesser used search engines by toggling their visibility (to reduce clutter and speed up my search process), and when an "archived" engine becomes relevant to me again I've simply toggled the engine back to a visible state. However, as of version 152, this functionality appears to have been removed for user-added search engines. Is there a way to restore this functionality?

I've searched here and elsewhere on the web for a workaround, and perused the about:config variables, but have not been able to find anything. The show/hide functionality is still present for builtin search engines, so it seems like there must be some way to restore it for all search engines.

None of the topics seemed to match my issue so I selected "Browse".

In FF 153.0.1 on W11 64-bit, after Firefox updated to the latest version my Alt+D does not work. Ctrl+L still works. In Incongnito, Alt+D DOES work. However, in regular browsing it does not work, even after I have disabled all of my extensions. I don't know why it's not working or what I could do from my end to try to get it working.

I am trying to change my default search engine to Firefox and it isn't allowing me. What could be preventing this? and how do I get around it? Thank you in advance for your help.

Any search entry gets the following return:

Secure connection failed

an error occurred during he connection to oaik.lindantz.com SSLreceived a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length

error code SSL-eror-rxrecord-tooo-long

etc etc

I tried to use Firefox as my search engine but that didn't work so I re-downloaded DuckDuck, but the address bar say "search with google". I use to have DuckDuck but deleted it because I got tired of sites wanting to know my location. How do I get rid of that. I've tried all options in the settings file. I would prefer

I recently purchase s new Dell desktop computer with Windows 11, my preferred search browser is Fire Fox i have used it for years and like it. Recently when i make a search with Fox Fire the answer for the search is with another search engine, example: Yahoo, Google, Edge or other. I don't recall this with the old windows 10 why is the happening and can I change this ?.
