There's surely no option for it now, but I would like to suggest adding a setting for each user that can affect all or individual add-on extensions : force silent updates. You see, when add-ons get updated, they open a new tab. Now this can be useful or simply interesting, but sometimes it's just obtrusive for people, especially when watching a video. This happened to me a couple of times, I'd be watching a YouTube video on full screen and suddenly the program would exit full screen and switch to a new tab where the add-on page is open, and the video is still playing. Hi Everyone, I've just installed (clean) version 115.0.2, and can't get back to my previous layout. The default engine is set to DuckDuckGo, and Privacy Essentials is installed too. Although the front page of FireFox shows a search box in the main body, when I type into it, the information is transferred to the DDG search box in the Toolbar. How can I get back to where things were before -- i.e. I could type into the main page box and DDG would happily search from there. Thank you,

After you "improved" the extensions, I can't find a way to pin my password manager to the toolbar. I use it ALOT so there is a huge inconvenience to have to click the extension button to se it every time. Tell me how I can have it pinned. If this is not possible, I am quitting Firefox!

I am using Firefox's picture-in-picture player to watch a livestream on Youtube. When I use the mute button on the PiP controls, it will unmute itself after a few seconds. Instead, I have to find the browser tab and mute it in YouTube's player. Would be nice to have a this resolved as the mute button on the PiP player is more convenient to use. Thanks, I appreciate this cool feature.

I set up 4ows of shortcuts on the home page. Almost ever shortcut had an icon. Now all of the icons are gone except for youtube, ebay and amazon. Not sure what happened to the rest of the icons. Has this happened to anyone else?

I am having trouble with the ENO extension when I use Firefox. I click on the extension and it just spins and spins and spins. I have contacted Capital One about this at least six times. Every time I do I am told that it is working fine. I might be told to reboot, clear cache, etc. It might work once but then stops working.

When I use it on Chrome it always works fine. Every time. If I don't remember before I start a credit card transaction and use Firefox I end up when it is the time to use ENO and it does not work. Then I have to start over.

How can I get Capital One to put in some work on this? Can you help? I don't think ENO should be available for Firefox since it works so poorly.

hi, something happened to my themes. i can no longer see the preview/thumbnail of them, also the authors link is gone. i've been trying everything for hours, but couldn't find anything in about:config that worked. any help would be great, thanks!

I need to make a new profile for testing purposes. I have the list of modified preferences in the about:config page. Couldn't I just replace each modified preference one by one with the values from the old profile to replicate all of the settings (even those that appear in the settings menu)?

Whenever you start typing a certain website name in the address bar, Firefox suggests and option to auto-fill the address based on what you've typed. My issue with that is that auto-fill keeps suggesting the address that I DON'T want it to. Specifically, I want "ya" to auto-fill to "ya.ru", instead it keeps suggesting "yandex.com.ge". Now, I have tried deleting all the history of ever going to "yandex.com.ge" as well as just ignoring the issue and typing out the full "ya.ru" by myself and giving Firefox some time to catch onto this, however after a couple of weeks nothing's changed. What's interesting is that when I type "ya" in the address bar, Firefox shows the following (in order): the wrong auto-fill suggestion ("yandex.com.ge"), some search suggestions (yahoo, yandex, yahoo mail, etc), then after the search suggestions there is a separator that says "Firefox suggests" and what do you think, the CORRECT auto-fill that I want is first right in there - "ya.ru". So Firefox actually knows that I want it, since it's the first thing in "Firefox suggests", but why can I not get it as a default auto-fill suggestion?

Hi Collective Brains, Rebuilding my computer after a hack and can not seem to get the little house shaped (Home) button for Firefox back onto my address bar so when I open a new tab and google I can not go back home to Firefox without opening another new tab. Okay, so it's a bit nit-picky, but, hey, it's a bug I don't need right now. Can someone give me a hand, please and thank you Kate

When you type 'm' in the search/address bar, the very first result autocompletes to mail.google.com, so that all you have to do is type 'm' and then hit enter and you're sent to gmail. I've recently changed my primary email to a different email client. Is there a way to change what address autocompletes first? Will this change automatically after some amount of time? or are the google results built in as the first option always?

I've got a pretty simple question here.

I do work thru a website doing data entry. One of the forms has a "copy this data to all similar fields" button. When I used to use Chrome, I could click the button and it would work with no pop-up dialogue. In Firefox, it creates the dialogue below (mozillahow2.png) asking me to confirm that I want to copy the data. It has an option to prevent the page from creating additional diologues.

I tried ticking the box but, unfortunately, this prevents the copy-to-all function in the website from working at all; it blocks the dialogue completely rather than defaulting to "yes, confirm" etc.

I'm just wondering how I can tinker around and make this work like it does in Chrome. It's a minor inconvenience but one I would like to optimize.

I'm using Firefox on my mac and have spent the last 2 hours just trying to figure out how to add a custom paper size. I need to print 2.25" x 1.25" labels on a Dymo printer. But there is nowhere to add a paper size and only 5 paper size options.

How do I simply add a paper size?

Hi, i am on linux an Firefox 115.0.2. Every supported website appeared in dark mode because of my preferences in the firefox settings respectively about:config layout.css.prefers-color-scheme.content-override is set to 2 and my system mode is dark. (0 and 3 changes nothing) Since some time this settings does not work anymore. The only thing i have changed is: about:config - privacy.trackingprotection.enabled set to true So now all the websites appeared in dark mode now appear in light mode. Chrome shows all these websites in dark mode. (But of course thats no option :-)) An Example: reddit.com: before: dark, now: light mode, Chrome dark mode. So please help! regards, awilli
