I've made several screen shots.

first one is of file explorer with current data (document is "ambulance- x" i wanted to attach second one is of file explorer with incorrect data when I clicked 'attach' to get document third one is of actual display of message screen online that i used to send message. I got tired of the shenanigans with the latest "upgrades" to firefox (132 & 133) so I rolled back to the last working version (131.02). In doing so, it required me to create a new profile, which I did. Doing so WIPED OUT ALL OF MY BOOKMARKS, SETTINGS, ADD-ONS, OPTIONS, HISTORY, EVERYTHING!!! I now have a blank version of firefox.

How in the world can I get them back???

Also FYI, I indicated that I was continuing to use Firefox V 94.0.1 (64-bit) on Windows 7 Professional. This is because all versions later than 94.0.1 modified settings which had to be reset after an update. This was not necessary up to and including V 94.0.1 Cheers Graham Garden

I already have "Automatically install updates" and "When Firefox is not running" enabled.

But after each Firefox update I still get the "Do you want to allow this app to make changes..." prompt and "Firefox is installing your updates and will start in a few moments" window. These are inconvenient as they require user input and take up time.

I don't get these on all other browsers I use (including Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox, Opera, Vivaldi, Brave), which all update in the background seamlessly.

Is there a way to prevent these in Firefox and just have Firefox update seamlessly in the background like other browsers?

After last update Firefox ESR 115.23.0 the menu on the website: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/homeis not displayed correctly. Could you fix this? Second question - can you disable reCAPTCHA when logging in to this site?

Hi everyone

I used Refresh Firefox option and it created "Old Firefox Data" folder on my desktop.

Awesome stuff. Sadly I cant get rid of it, here is why:

1. At first it said that the folder is used by another program and I cant delete it because of that. Cool, I decided to uninstall Firefox and make a clean install, so I have space to delete the folder too.

2. Long story short, it didnt work. I removed Firefox and tried to delete that folder, but wait for it, yeah I cant because I need permission from MYSELF. Awesome stuff.

3. I decided to use safe mode, so I used run command to run msconfig and I changed it to boot in to safe mode. But wait for it! YES! Its bugged and I cant login in safe mode, because pin is useless and it doesnt give me option to use password, so after hour of various things I got back to my normal mode via CMD commands. THANK YOU MICROSOFT.

4. So now Im stuck with the lovely "Old Firefox Data" folder, which cant be removed normally, neither in safe mode and wait for it! NEITHER WITH ADMIN CMD, not even the takeown /f "Old Firefox Data" /r command. THANK YOU MOZILLA!

So is there someone knowledgeable enough to help me to get rid of that folder pretty please? Like really a lot please.

I looked at the system requirements page at https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/141.0/system-requirements/ . For Windows devices, the operating systems supported are listed as "Windows 10 or later".

In October 2025, Microsoft officially stops providing feature and security updates for Windows 10. However, they offer consumers and businesses the option of enrolling in 1-year, 2-year, and 3-year subscriptions for Windows 10 devices which will provide another 1-year, 2-years, and 3-years of additional security updates. For those individuals and businesses who will be enrolling devices into the Windows 10 ESU program, will Mozilla continue to support Firefox on Windows 10 after October 2025, at least for those receiving security updates through Microsoft subscriptions? Or at that point will Mozilla consider Windows 11 to be the only supported Windows operating system?

We are in an enterprise environment and for years we have had disabled automatic updates.

Firefox ESR 128.2.0 has been deployed with defaults and these settings have been configured to override previous settings.

Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Mozilla > Firefox

- Custom Update URL = Disabled
- Disable Update = Disable
- Application Autoupdate = Enabled
- Background updater = Enabled

We also have a system proxy configured.

Updates do work if someone goes to Help > About Firefox.

Looks like the update interval is once every 7 hours but how is this triggered?

Firefox auto updated when I opened it today. Then when it opened, all that was on the screen was the menu (file edit view history bookmarks tools help), the "search or enter address" box, and in the upper right hand corner the words "private browsing" with the purple circle and eye eyeglasses icon. That's all. I have tried looking at my profile. It seems to still be there. This seems to be a problem with the Firefox software itself. I have re-downloaded the software three times, the last time I uninstalled Firefox from my laptop and totally reinstalled. Every time I get the same results. This almost blank screen. Let me be clear. There is no purple background, there is no Firefox icon, there are no tabs, there is no customized menu bar, there is no search box in the middle of the screen. I'm working on a Windows 10 laptop 64 bit. Please don't tell me to upgrade the Windows 11, the laptop won't take Windows 11. I get the same window whether I open the regular fire fox or the private browsing Firefox.

I installed chatgpt, but I've found it more of a nuisance than a help. I've tried on-line to find out how to remove it but none of the suggestions seemed to work. I'm using the latest version of firefox on a Macbook Pro. Any ideas welcome. Charlie

Your article about the expiration of Windows 10 says that anyone that has FireFox on the Release Channel doesn't have to worry, that updates will continue to support Windows 10. I don't know what that means (Release Channel). And how can I check if that's what I have?

Win 11 stopped working on my Lenoovo Yoga due to bitlocker key requirement that does not exist I'm in the process of installing Ubuntu during the installation something went wrong "system program problem detected" which stopped the installation
