Since the most current Firefox update in June 2022, when in Yahoo Mail and downloading an attachment, as the download complete, the Yahoo Mail tab is automatically closing, requiring I to go to 'History', then 'Recently Closed' tabs to re-open it. This happens Every.Single.Time I download photos and scanned docs from email. Again, this has never happened before - only with the recent Firefox update. I have 2021 a MacBook Pro.

I've noticed that with Firefox 102 when I download an exe file, in this case Thunderbird Setup 102.0.exe it is renaming it to Thunderbird Setup 102.0.exe.bin.

Why is that happening now? I know the "potential risk" or downloading an .exe file but shouldn't it ask or at least warn you instead of just deciding to rename it

I didn't see a setting to disable this "feature". Is there one?

Thanks

Hi All,

I just started running a dual monitor set up on macOS 12.4. I have updated Firefox to version 102.0.1.

I'm running into an issue where if I want to have a video playing from a browser in full screen on one monitor, I lose the menu bar and access to the dock on the other monitor. I have set them up so that they behave as separate spaces but the issue persists. It should be noted that this only occurs when I'm trying to use the web browser on the second monitor. My impression of what's happening is the browser thinks that since it's in full screen on one monitor, it should be on the second screen as well. I want them both to act independently of one another and retain access to the menu bar and dock on the second screen.

I've trialed this with Brave Browser and Safari and neither of them have the same issue which leads me to believe with overwhelming probability that the issue I'm experiencing is isolated to Firefox.

I've included a screenshot from my second monitor. On my primary monitor I have a YouTube video in full screen. I think you can see from the screenshot that the Menu Bar has disappeared from the second display. I also have the Dock set to automatically hide and when the video is full screen on the primary monitor, the Dock will not un-hide itself on the second screen. Unfortunately clicking within the browser will not restore the Menu Bar and access to the Dock. Is this atypical behavior?

I appreciate whatever help you're able to provide.

Currently @ Ver. 102.0.1 Problem remains. Since the update to 102.0 my Win10 PC has problems with the page update. When the scroll slider gets near the bottom the page, new images begin to load. This reload results in 3-15+ newly loaded Fb posts scrolling past so fast as to be invisible. I have to keep my cursor on the scroll slider and, when the loading begins, start scrolling up if I want to have any chance to easily find the last post I was reading. I have seen this behavior, grossly exaggerated, when I was viewing a video. The reload caused the viewing to pause and upwards of 15 newly loaded posts scrolled past in this rapid manner. My work requires that I am able to view pages of Facebook posts and this is now massively time-consuming and intolerable. I may have to change browsers in spite of my reluctance to do so.

When I click the reload button or press CRTL+R, I expect firefox to return to the top of the current page and reload the current page.

But lately (a few months now) firefox does not return to the top of the page, it stays at the position that I'm currently viewing and reloads.

I tried starting firefox in safe mode by holding the shift key, and it still shows the same problem. I even tested this on another computer (not mine) with the same result.

If this is a new feature of firefox, can I turn it off?

thanks

I am all of a sudden getting Access Denied errors when visiting a variety of different types of sites. I have read in the help menus that I need to go into the history and select to forget the site. While that temporarily fixes it, the error inevitably returns when trying to access these sites. I have disabled the Nord VPN and my ESET virus software but it does not help.

I have to go into Edge to access the sites as Edge does not give me the same error. This is making the browser nearly unusable. Please help.

My Firefox browser search engine has been redirected to Searchgoose.com. I have attempted to remove it using the instructions given in Malewarebytes, HitmanPro, and Superantispyware without success. My Firefox settings still show that Google is my default search engine and Searchgoose.com is not listed so I can remove it. Any suggestions on how I can remove searchgoose.com from my Windows 10 PC would be appreciated. The URL is https://www.searchgoose.com/?path=firefox/newtab&u=ea246c3c80cbfda0&subid=11118&channel=19. Yahoo mail is the only site on my browser that doesn't work. It opens and loads and you can open an email but you can't do anything with it. You can't look at attachments, delete, move, star, or anything. I've reloaded yahoo, created a new password and signed back in, closed Firefox and opened back up, restarted my laptop and opened back up, cleared cache - NOTHING WORKS. It works just fine on Chrome and my phone. I noticed that yahoo mail url is the only one that has a cross site cookie symbol. But when I take it out, it still doesn't work. I am beyond annoyed.
