Hello!

 Since some days I have the problem that all files I download from outlook are accompanied by a preceding UTF-8 in the file name. This is not the case for e.g. google chrome. Can I fix this problem by myself, or is it a general problem of firefox 128.9esr (64-bit)?

The iDrive backup app on my synology nas is accessed via a web browser over my local network using an ip address. It has a two step security setup. First to enter Synology credentials and then iDrive's. After entering the iDrive credentials, all I get is a spinning wheel. It is supposed to present a box to enter a validation code, sent to me by email (which I get). The box is never shown.

The process works in Chrome and Edge successfully. I contacted iDrive support and they told me that since it fails only in Firefox, that I should contact the browser vendor.

There is no error message.

I tried clearing my browser cache, restarting Firefox and my computer, none of which helped.

Please can you advise me?

Firefox 137.0.2 (64 bit). Windows 10 Home 22H2 Os Build 19045.5737.

I get random crashes while streaming video (for example youtube). I am using a laptop with 2 GPUs (integrated AMD and dedicated Nvidia) and a secondary monitor. If the Firefox windows is on the laptop display I never get crashes but on the secondary display I get around 1-2/hour. Also, this only happens with hardware acceleration enabled in Firefox settings, if I deactivate it then the issue is gone. I think it runs on the AMD integrated graphics, based on what I see in task manager. I also have uBlock origin, haven't tried deactivating it yet. The crashses consist in a black screen from which I can only recorver by doing a hard reset.

Any suggestions on what to try?

A banner appears upper right of screen, stating firefox has 3 notifications (or 1 or 2 etc) but I don't know where to look for them. Can anyone help? I'm using a MacBook Pro from 2010 (when they knew how to make things that lasted) with firefox version 115.22.0esr on macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 (which is apparently the last version I can use as computing has vastly outraced my laptops capacity and we are expected to update everything to catch up with security glitches etc so tough sh*t if everything goes wrong. Welcome to capitalism folks.)

Ahem, but I was saying: where are these notifications and why isn't it obvious?

One page of Firefox 115.21 opened and Task manager memory usage for Firefox reports-:

1) 9,956 K 2) 46,288 K 3) 11,564 K 4) 55,268 K 5) 21,560 K 6) 9,996 K 7) 5,516 K 8) 302,924 K 9) 40,272 K

These are ALL marked Firefox and in order on my Task Manager, the Page 'opened' was Firefox help forum ,,,, some memory usage here, is this right????

My computer downloads your updates over and over again, tying up my computer--none of the downloads ever loads This problem is can only be fixed by pull the plug restarts as these downloads will not stop until I do this

While i was trying to search indeed for a job the site started having a glich loading . I'm not sure if that the best term but doesn't fully load. I have had this issue at least 6x in past five years on default firefox setting and if i changed a few to make more secure . When i use other browser that are not firefox based it is fine . It happens on librewolf as well

Please help me when my file downloaded it seems extention is added to my file.

Ex: i downloaded a file name questionare.xlsx the output for the file is UTF-8questionare.xlsx

Please give me feedback and resolution for this issue. This just happend in April 17,2025.

Hello, For some time now it has been impossible for me to mark the tabs I want to keep. The 'Mark Current Tab' function no longer works. I've been able to sign in to bluemountain.com on my desktop for years, but I can't now. I can sign in on my android phone and tablet.

Yesterday, April 5, 2025, my Firefox started displaying this message for every search typed in the browser:

"Our systems have detected unusual traffic on your computer network. This page verifies that it is really you, and not a robot, sending the requests. Why did this happen?"

I tried a few solutions: I cleared the cache, restored Firefox, reinstalled Firefox, restarted the internet modem, reset the computer's DNS using the ipconfig/flushdns command, scanned for malware with Windows Defender, and scanned for viruses and malware with Kaspersky, but the problem persists, both in the normal tab and in the private tab.

I contacted my internet provider, and they said there is no problem on their side.

In Firefox, I always use the default search engine "Google".

When I change the search engine to "Bing", the problem does not occur.

The problem does not occur in the Google Chrome browser, only in Firefox.

I am using Firefox 115.22.0esr (64-bit), Windows 7 operating system and internet connection via network cable. I only have one computer connected and I don't use VPN.

Please, can you help me?

OK, strange thing I cannot understand. an IDENTICLE URL ( cut and pasted from document ) Chrome gives one result and Firefox gives an abbreviated version of the same result. This is most noticable on Ebay when showing 'new today' items where Chrome shows Items that Firefox does not. And , No, its not a refresh or cache issue. Any ideas, thanks.

My Firefox browser window has multiple tabs. I would like to be able to close them individually. The tabs do not have the 'x' symbol on them to be able to close them conventionally. I tried to right-click on the individual tabs, but the drop down menu does not have the option available to close the tab either. I tried rebooting the computer but when I open Firefox again, the same tabs are still there rather than opening up a fresh browser window with only the start tab window. I am using Windows 11 with this computer also. Help!!!

Firefox recently offered a choice of having open tabs appear in a sidebar on the left side. This is great but the tabs and sidebar stay visible when engaging the f11 full screen mode. This makes an awkward appearance when trying to view in full screen - such as movies or any other. The address bar at the top is hidden with f11, but the side tabs and their vertical side bar remain visible. I believe Firefox would be more desirable if the f11 key also hid the side bar. This is how Microsoft's Edge browser functions. Can't have a true full screen if the sidebar and tabs remain visible. The full screen functions works well if the sidebar function is turned off in settings but this makes it awkward for a user who wishes to use the sidebar tabs with a full screen mode. I am using the version 115.20.0esr (64-bit) and have noticed I have links in my bookmarks, that are either from other bookmark folders but I never copied them over, or I have new links that I never clicked to be saved? I have deleted those I found but some more keep popping up?
