When I click again, then click on the blue 1 to watch the download. Nothing happens. The window just sits there and states 'downloading', but it does not happen. I have a task bar at the bottom of my screen -- or I used to. Ever since I installed a Norton protection program several says ago, the task bar shows up sometimes and other times, it is gone and I cannot access it. When it's there, it gives me access to the websites I'm using, all my written files and picture, video and other files, volume control and other options. I NEED TO SEE AND USE THIS TASK BAR ALL THE TIME, NOT SOME OF THE TIME WHEN FOR SOME REASON IT'S THERE. AGAIN, I WANT TO ACCESS THIS TASK BAR ALWAYS WHEN I'M ONLINE.

My IP adr. is 80.208.65.123 and it is NOT suffering from poor reputation -- and no problem when I sign in from e.g. Chrome!

CONTEXT - I use a Linux (Peppermint) Live DVD to surf the Web, always on the same laptop. I do NOT use any hard disk inside that laptop, just the Live DVD spinned by a DVD player. Only the RAM stores data => fresh new distro for every session - years ago, I created a Firefox account, and the Sync worked perfectly, and allowed me to back up my Bookmarks AND my Opened Tabs (they are stored in Mozzila's cloud, and after each sign in and a sync, they reappear in the left panel). Regarding the Synced Tabs, the left panel used to store all the previous Live DVD sessions (generally with the device's name: peppermint's Linux... (IIRC). - i do NOT use several devices, and do NOT wish to sync date acreoss them. I use Sync to get my Bookmarks and Opened Tabs synced across successive Firefox sessions, day after day. I worked perfectly well.
PROBLEM Since a few weeks, I noted that despite login and sync, on the left panel - Synced Tabs are now empty: no tabs synced at all => so I cannot seamlessly find back my opened tabs from one session to another (if I switch off my laptop, then later restart a new Live DVD session) - see screenshot = https://imgur.com/LO6jWLYl.png - Bookmarks are nevertheless still perfectly synced (see screenshot = https://i.imgur.com/Td0nbY2.png)

I have been using an old version of Firefox (109.0.1). I am not typically using a newer version because of an essential - to me - add-on which hasn't been updated, and which doesn't work in more recent versions.
On macOS Sierra this old version of Firefox crashes. Troubleshooting mode (I was prompted a number of times) and restarting the browser appears to eventually resolve the crash, but finally there is an issue with the memory and the browser doesn't "work."

The policy it lists is: disableappupdate true. Everything I see in the help database for this pblm pertains to Windows. As I said above I am running linux mint.
