What version of Firefox actually allows you to add extensions? I'm running the most current version of Tumbleweed that ships with 144.0. Attempts to add extensions just sit there doing nothing until I close the tab. This sort of worked some time ago (I forget the version) but the inability of Firefox to allow add-ons/extensions is getting to be a joke. There are other browsers out there, ya know.

Firefox used to have my background colors, and on the latest update, my pull-down menu and tabs are robin's-egg blue. I can't figure out how to get my colors back, and I hate that color.

How the hell do I get back control over my colors?

Certain PDFs only allow page view when opened in Firefox. When opened with other PDF viewing software or browsers (Microsoft Edge, Adobe Acrobat, Google Chrome), these PDFs allow continuous scrolling. I don't have this issue for most PDFs.

I've tried fixing the problem by editing the PDF settings in Adobe Acrobat but to no avail. When combining a PDF that works fine with a PDF that doesn't allow continuous scrolling in Firefox, it seems to take on the settings of not allowing continuous scrolling.

I tried several things, but nothing helped so far. I did an offline-scan with Windows Defender, I opened FF in troubleshoot mode, cleared cache etc. I got the following crash-ID:

As of 12/9/25, Firefox seems to now prevent Theme add-ons from working if there is a contrast setting configured in Windows configuration. (Version 146.0) Previously, this allowed a very aesthetically pleasing view. I would greatly enjoy having that option again. Thank you.

Since more than a month, when firefox was updated, all my bookmarks seem to be gone,which includes a lot of valuable research made over the past few years.

I have tried all suggestions that google give me to restore my bookmarks, but as far as I understand, there are no newer ones since 2019 (nor older ones than 2018) on my computer? That's what I find in a folder called 'bookmarkbackups' with json-files. Separately I also searched for 'json' and '.jsonlz4' and found nothing after 2019. Also I searched for .html, but nothing seemed to contain bookmark directly.

When I go to manage bookmarks > 'import/export' icon in the upper bar, it suggests two options, for 'nov 13 2025', or today's date), of which none provide me with any bookmarks.

Can I somehow still recover my research?

Do I really need to backup manually?

Or need I start saving all URLs in a word-document for my new research project?...

Firefox seems to update regularly, I currently have version 145.01. (I work on a Mac 2021, with Ventura 13.7.8)

I highly appreciate any advice on this matter.

Hello, I just updated to Firefox version 146, and now the bookmarks and history in the sidebar are no longer visible because the background is yellow-green and the text is white...so, invisible!

I hope you will fix this quickly with a new update, as it's a real problem.

I'm running FF on Windows v145.0.1 and navigate to...

...and the animation doesn't work. This is a recent phenomenon. I have another computer in the office I've turned off FF updates (obvious reasons) and the animation works fine. It worked on my computer until recently. I'm so exhausted with FF updates that break things, it's getting as bad as Windows. I've run FF in troubleshoot mode, no good. I've added this primary domain to exceptions to enhanced tracking, no good. Nothing works so I assume it's Firefox (may not be). But v129.0.2 works fine, in this respect (streaming the animation loops of GOES West).

Does anyone know what configuration or setting I can explore to make this work again?  :-(

The subject says it all. The "tabs from other devices" are a) Shown as a long flat list of links, not in their individual tabs, which is disappointing b) right click does nothing - doesn't open them as advertised

I opened a profile that I had just used recently to a blank tab bar. I closed it and the sessionstore-backup folder did not have a recent backup, The most recent about a week old.

Just for testing, I tried to restore with one of the upgrade.jsonlz4 file, about 2 weeks old, but it also had no session. I then restored one that was 2 months old. That one had a session

Now, Firefox no longer generates the upgrade.jsonlz4 files

Evil Corp (aka Microsoft) updated my Windows 11 PC from 24H2 to 25H2 and now I cannot access quite a few websites (i.e. Amazon, Bank!, etc.) and some take a long time to load (surprisingly, my Firefox Home page...Google...also takes a while to load) . I searched the internet and found many so called fixes and most are very complicated and many contradict others. A lot of them say to disable DNS and reset network stack (using the command prompt) which I do not know how to do even though I worked in the tech business for 40 yrs (mainly data networking)...I retired 20 yrs ago...so I'm old...so I'm not as savvy with computers as I used to be. I tried changing a few Firefox settings, but nothing worked, so I changed them back to the original settings that worked before the update. If someone could give me detailed (and hopefully simple) instructions to resolve this issue, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm am in a bind, so a timely response would be great. So I reformatted my hard drive and everytime I finish I reinstall Firefox. I have an account where I log in and it put me back where I left off with all my past bookmarks that I saved. Ive been doing this for 10 years but today not sure whats going on but when I logged if all my stuff has disappeared. Please help or contact Mozilla regarding this. I cant understand why one cant directly speak to the ones who developed this browser. Quite frustrating

Hi! Was just wondering if there was something preventing me from opening these kinds of pop-ups. Recently, I've been browsing old websites and noticed that links that are supposed to be pop-ups don't pop-up at all. Then, I tried to do the same on my website, and it still didn't work. I've pretty much done every solution I could find under the Sun, but none so far have worked whatsoever. Is this a new feature or is Firefox just being weird again?

Please help ;_; it's been stressing me out real bad for the past few hours!

I installed firefox on ubuntu 24.04 following the guidelines from https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-firefox-linux

I followed the direction from the section "Install Firefox .deb package for Debian-based distributions", adding the https://packages.mozilla.org/apt repository, prioritizing that over firefox snap from ubunto repors and finally installing firefox.

All good, now I have the latest firefox.

Question: what entry should I add to the "Unattended-Upgrade::Allowed-Origins" section of "/etc/apt/apt.conf.d/50unattended-upgrades" in order to enable unattended upgrades for the mozilla repo?

Googling this got me different contradictory recommendations that did not get my system to firefox 146 until I manually run the apt update/upgrade.

TODAY'S (NEW-ish) ISSUE: - Multiple times per day I Click the Yellow button Top Left Bar to shrink and put App in dock to open again later. When I re-Large FireFox shows EMPTY FireFox Bar like I "Quit". Each time need to go to History and RE-OPEN ALL TABS??????

1. 2 within THIS text box just now, I highlighted the words: "Today's Issue" and clicked BOLD - instead it added a 2nd set of parenthesis???? WTF?

Browser is open all day. Always multiple tabs open/signed in, Paid & non-paid Apps, Email boxes, Wix, etc, many website tabs up, I do a lot of "research" - to pay my $rent and/or live my life using this "tool". Is my typical behavior. IN THE MIDDLE OF DOING WORK - I need to fix re-load Firefox again and again. . . Interrupted, distracted, observe, deal with so many Tech failures every day from ALL brands, I am struggling to keep my "life" functioning.

When I play a downloaded video that is in English, my downloaded file plays back in a foreign language, not English. What am I doing to cause this and how can I have the English version only in playback everytime? if i search something on firefox the search bar doesnt show english and after clicking enter for the answer sometimes it doesnt come in english. i have chosen english as the only language but sometimes i get results in bangla too. i want my results to be in english only.
