After downloading and running installer (Thunderbird setup 148.0) from Thunderbird website, Thunderbird opened as usual, showing my three email accounts. The 2 accounts I use for almost everything are both Yahoo accounts (yahoo.co.uk and rocketmail.com). But.. neither of these accounts will work without a yahoo sign-in pop which is pre-filled with an account name (example graphic attachment : thunderbird01red.jpg). 1 example shown but the same thing happens for both yahoo accounts.

The 'Next' button, which I assume will ask for password, does nothing.

I have attempted login via webmail. I enter account name, am asked for password and Yahoo insists on sending me a verification code - to the other yahoo account (the yahoo.co.uk account), which I cannot access! I then attempt to login to the other account to access my pass code and the same thing happens in reverse, telling me that a verification code will be sent to the first account.

Via Thunderbird, which has for years done all this automatically behind the scenes, I can get absolutely nowhere. Via webmail, I am in an 'impossibility loop'. I have cleared cache for each account.

Why won't Thunderbird allow automatic account login, as has been the case since the year dot. These are the 2 accounts around which my entire life is ordered - can somebody please help.

Prior to TB 148, OAUTH worked for POP3 access to: Gmail, MS Outlook, and Yahoo.

After TB 148 upgrade: OAUTH to Yahoo fails, subsequent log-in page also fails. Both OAUTH to Gmail and OAUTH to MS Outlook still work fine.

Rolled-back/Reverted to TB 147.0.2 -- OAUTH to all works fine, as it did previously.

Note: YahooMail seems to have other problems. But I was able to confirm successful OAUTH and POP3 to YahooMail after reversion to 147.0.2.

hi today thunderbird started showing yahoo popup login and after adding credentials i always get "something went wrong.We could not sign you in. Try again from a different device." Also popup once closed it opens instantly.

i can sign in normally from browser. thunderbird version is 147

is there any fix about this?

Dear people at Mozilla Thunderbird Email: Please STOP sending me emails to solicit access to my Google account. I receive enough junk mail without these solicitations; be decent and erase me from your list. I will appreciate that, instead to being irritated with the continuous pop-ups you are sending me.

Accessing my yahoo email with Thunderbird have worked fine for several months. Now I cannot log in. Yahoo mail is not accessible from the web either. But the web login works fine from Windows. I tried to change authentication method from OAuth2 to password but that didn't help. When I start Thunderbird there is either a dialogue which requires password or a window (see added picture) with a long string at the top of the window. That string cannot be edited. The rest of the window is empty.

I've lost my password, but I believe I have retrieved it from the Profile. The entry reads: "encryptedPassword":"MEIEEPgAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAEwFAYIKoZIhvcNAwcECOabVSCGHBLGBBiqEqUXu8w7N4eAi09k0ZOIVAcs0chiziM=". Please would you indicate how to decrypt. Promptly upon resolution, I shall obviously change the password using the regular Thunderbird method.

For over a year now, I have had to resort to the Orange.fr e-mail client, which is much less satisfactory. I have used a Demo version of "Passware kit" to seek to retrieve the elusive password, and have received no satisfactory answer from it. I am not prepared to pour good money after bad.

A software solution is only as good as the support the publisher provides for it. Please answer soon.

I emphasise that, as a regular contributor of funds in the past, my continued funding of Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird depends on your answering with a satisfactory, workable solution to my long-standing plight, contingent upon decryption of the password above.

I've used Thunderbird for years & have never changed my password. All of a sudden, it will no longer recognize my password. As a consequence, I am no longer receiving email and cannot sign in, even though it just "updated" my version of thunderbird..

I use earthlink.net (28yrs) with Thunderbird. I set up a second account (name123@earthlink.net) which somehow became my primary account. It accesses fine, but my major account (name@earthlink.net) asks for password which I don't know and can't find using tools, account settings etc. This just started and I typically get 50 emails per day and cannot access. I can access X@earthlink.net

Bonjour je n'arrive plus à accéder à ma boite mail à l'ouverture il m'est demandé mon mot de passe , je l'ai oublié quand je suis la procédure pour afficher mon mot de passe, il m'est demandé un code confidentiel que je ne connais pas, comment puis je faire? je n'arrive pas à trouver ou le reinitaliser. et lorsque je tente d'accéder à la messagerie j'ai un message suivant: "echec de la connexion à imap.sfr.fr avec cet utilisateur" je n'avais jamais eu de problèmes jusqu'à aujourd'hui Puis je supprimer le compte de messagerie et le recréer ensuite? mes dossiers locaux et archives seront ils conservés ou perdus? Login problem after Thunderbird 148.0 (64-bit) (update) as a client for Yahoo accounts - Google accounts continued to work without problems after the update. Yahoo accounts can now only be accessed via the website. A new app password generated in the Yahoo account is not accepted in the Thunderbird browser window, nor is the original password. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I am trying to set up Thunderbird on a new PC (my old PC died following a power outage). Trying to set up a New Account, I enter the email address I normally use. It asks me for a password. I have tried passwords I have just set up for Mozilla, Thunderbird, Virgin (three of them) and even Google. I am sick of seeing ‘Authentication error’ with not help offered. I never set up a password when I started using Thunderbird many years ago. I keep all my password. There is no option when a password is forgotten or for a new one to be set up. If you can’t or won’t assist, can you recommend a different email app. I have spend so long on this! Cheers, Ken Bailey

I receive the following message each time I open Thunderbird but I enter my iCloud Password and still it asks. I hit cancel severals times and it goes awayt and my icloud calendar works so it seems Thunderbird is connected to iCoud?

I need to know how to enter a new password. My original Thunderbird account was eliminated. My Mac was hacked and in the process of cleaning my laptop, Thunderbird was erased. Also, I have more than one email address. They were all listed and available on my original Thunderbird account. Thank you for your help.
