I've run into a snafu where my email provider (optimum) has to take my account off line for about an hour. There is a chance that I will lose email that is stored on Optimum. If I have downloaded to Thunderbird prior to taking the account off line, will I still have the emails I've downloaded.

I am on Firefox 150 and their is no Icon for the VPN. I even restarted in the safe mode and still no VPN. I did not have VPN in Firefox 149 but I decided to wait for Firefox 150 to report this.

When I try to Login or Change Password there is no OTP Emails received from Mozilla contact emails.

I tried multiple way but still nothing received.

I have two questions: 1. Do you find Thunderbird release [version number missing] better than ESR? Could you share your opinion?

It seems faster and applies all changes more quickly.

I will test it sometime if 32-bit and 64-bit versions are available simultaneously. I have no idea what kind of channel that would be.

Problem/Question:

In Thunderbird release 64-bit POP3, the font changes to blue for every second email (receipts). Can you tell me how to display every email in black? It's only the second email in the inbox that's displayed in blue (receiving emails). When composing, everything looks black. What do I need to change?

Question 2: Regardless of whether it's 32-bit or 64-bit, and whatever channel, I see updates to the latest version. The program itself has an option to view older updates, but everything is white. I only see white and nothing else. Is this intentional? I can't see the update, even though it's current?

My outgoing server settings are correct, but I have not been able to send any messages since getting Thunderbird set up. I get a message that says:

Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.chartermi.net failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again.

When I was setting everything up, the online bot "chat" instructions I was getting suggested that because my email account is so old (chartermi.net instead of charter.net), it may be causing some problems. However, I have not been able to find anything to address this, and that "chat bot" string has disappeared, so I cannot find it now.

In "manage profiles" I see where to delete the extra profile that was created and I don't want. Thanks to Cetaseus1. my question is does deleting a profile delete all the bookmarks? there is an info box that warns that bookmarks will be deleted including my 30,000+ bookmarks that were rolled over to this unwanted profile that just appeared. My intent is to have one remaining profile and all my bookmarks. I am hesitant to delete a profile and loose all those bookmarks. I won't delete until Mozilla assures me that I won't lose the bookmarks in the other profile. Thanks.

I have done this to have Tbird put email in the outbox... Click the Config Editor... button. Search for: mailnews.sendInBackground. Double-click the entry to set it to true.

It worked fine on Apr 19, but not today. The email goes to the outbox folder, but is then sent right away. What next? Thanks.

I used Pocket for a while. It was excellent since it allowed taking a webpage and converting it to a document that could be copied and pasted to Microsoft word. This allowed further analysis and work on the contents of the page and was extremely useful.

Now that Pocket is gone is there another extension or a purchased extension that does the same thing on the present day Firefox.

I presently use Windows 7 and Windows 10.

I was just notified that my email provider is ending service after 30 years. I need to move all my folders and messages from my old Provalue account to a new Gmail account. Is there an easy way to do this? Can I just change the account name and password as well as the server settings? They are both Pop3 accounts. I also need to point 131 message filters to the new Gmail account. Is there a way to do this without having to rewrite all of the filters? Do I need to copy all of the folders and messages to the new account manually? I have 30 years of emails that I still refer back to occasionally. I need help, what do I do? In a newsgroup I have a message containing the word 'werewolf' in its body. If I do a control-K search for 'werewolf' I see 'No messages match your search'. In the left of the display I also see 'Filters From Me (0) To Me (0). I don't know what this means and I don't know why the search couldn't find a message containing 'werewolf'. If I do a control-shift-K search and select the 'Body' button I see 'No message found'. The control-shift-F search will not look in message bodies. Why can't I find the message that contains the word 'werewolf'? What am I missing? Alan.

I deleted an old email address for a friend, but every time I email her, the auto-complete feature includes both the current email address and the one for her old job. I've deleted that one, and it doesn't seem to show up in the Address Book anywhere, so why does it keep coming up in the auto-complete?

It's annoying to me and to the place of employment to have the emails go to the wrong address when I'm not watching very carefully.

How can I make sure this doesn't happen again?

FireFox browser closed and when I opened it all my bookmarks are gone, all of my history is gone everything is gone as though I never ever used firefox in my life.

Using Linux Mint 22.3. Every time Thunderbird updates it loses the LocalFolders address. In relinking I have in error stored downloaded messages in two different LocalFolder locations. Is there any way to move all the existing stored data to one location?

Since a few days I don't have a 'preview' anymore when my cursor hoovers on a Profile or Username in Facebook. Normally a pop-up is shown with profile info of the user. I'm on 149.0.2 (64-bit) and this started out of the blue. Anyone have a solution? Thanks.

WebGPU research: Exploring how local inference can be integrated more deeply into the browser experience. Are there any ongoing projects or planned features that would allow users to connect their local AI endpoints to Firefox? Or is there a recommended community-driven way to implement this via extensions?
