How do I revert Firefox v29 to v28?

I just want a simple (or as simple as possible), step-by-step answer of what I need to do to completely restore Firefox to exactly the way it was before this latest update.

Every thread I've looked at starts with a reply from a moderator writing that we have to give the new version a chance because [list of reasons], then any useful replies that actually answer the question are edited to remove any helpful information and the thread is closed. This is pretty much the opposite of "support", and certainly no way to treat a very loyal and enthusiastic user base who are just trying to find a way to keep using Firefox in the way they find most productive.

To pre-answer the same unhelpful (some would say argumentative and insulting) responses from the other threads: Though I'm sure this update is wonderful in all sorts of ways, I find the prior version of Firefox better suited to my needs; it worked flawlessly for me so I don't care if support ends; and I am aware of the "dangers" of using an unsupported version.

I would just like to add that I feel betrayed that there was no warning that it was going to be such a significant change from the previous version and going forward the user base deserves some kind of warning to review the list of changes before applying the update, particularly when the update contains more than just bug fixes.

Now then, please, someone tell me how to completely restore Firefox to v28 including all my custom configurations (not just a v28 theme).

While this solves the majority of my problem it appears that certain config settings were overwritten by v29 and have been restored to default; however, this is probably the best I can hope for and I thank you for answering my question directly, something the thread moderators who decided to criticize anyone who didn't embrace v29 should have done.

I will also post feedback using the other link you provided.

Thank you for your help.

Woops: I just realized that the link you provided installs the US language version (including it's annoying dictionary-swapping bug). A better link (at least for non-Americans Windows users) would be https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/28.0/win32/

Edit: Sorry, no, the link was fine -- I must have clicked the US language link by accident.
