My addon bar is not showing up in the new Aurora update.
Firefox Aurora force updated last night and the addon bar is missing. It doesn't come up with Ctrl+/, it's not on the customize page, it's not listed under toolbars.

The addobar is not a feature of the new Australis look.
We have not yet updated our KB articles about Australis so for instance the Austrlis UI links you to the outdated KB article
- [≡] -> (?) -> keyboard shortcuts -> Keyboard shortcuts - Perform common Firefox tasks quickly
- The Add-on Bar gives you quick access to add-on features is also in need of updating
Use an addon such as this one
I'm not testing Firefox Aurora myself but maybe something here will help?
P.S. Here are the new Firefox Aurora release notes:

The Aurora development channels had the updates disabled on Feb 3rd and I guess they resumed the updates now. Normally the Aurora channel has updates disable for about four or so days starting when the versions move/merge to the next channel as Aurora channel can sometimes be unstable for the fist week in this time.
How long have you been testing the Aurora builds as they (along with Nightly channel) get checkins pretty much everyday so therefore they get a update each of those days.

This is somewhat arbitrary. The release notes just say:
- "Add-on bar has been removed, content moved to navigation bar"
That's just ridiculous. I don't want stuff on my status bar/addon bar cluttering the navigation bar.
What part of the navigation function does status stuff serve?
Earlier someone just stole the FIND box from the status bar. Now they stole the whole bar.
Sad? No it is annoying.
This is something that I coined the descriptive term deliberate feature regression for.
Others may well have a similar opinion to yours.
Often such discussions are considered off topic as they relate to development issues rather than being a fault with Firefox that is a support issue.
Support advice is likely to be limited to general suggestions to
- Look for any new addons that revert the position.
- Look at any new KnowledgeBase articles explaining the changes.
- Note of course these changes have not yet worked their way through to Beta Versions or Firefox Release versions yet.
You are likely to be one of the first of very many asking about changes due to Australis. I will tag this thread as escalate, that will with any luck mean that the HelpDesk staff get involved. I imagine HelpDesk may will be inviting UX or Development staff to comment on these changes, and explaining where is a suitable place to discuss the issue.
This was an intentional change. I will email the user advocacy team; https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/F.../Australis_add-on_compat https://input.mozilla.org/en-US/feedback
In the meantime we can add this to the feedback.
Did you take a look at the Classic Theme Restorer extension?
That extension can re-add the lost Add-on Bar via its options and rstore other features that are lost like disabling tabs on top and allow an extra toolbar.
Apologies for the many posts: "Thank you for comments, right now we are trying to streamline Australis. You might feel we go a bit overboard, but its definitely a work in progress. We take all of your feedback into careful consideration, though we cannot guarantee the weight of each request. If you would like to take part in the discussion of the current version, check out the release post or you can go to the Firefox Help menu and select Submit Feedback... or use this link. (You'll need to be on the latest version of Firefox to submit feedback). Your feedback gets collected at http://input.mozilla.org/, where a team of people read it and gather data about the most common issues."
Ridiculous!
I was a little heated when I noticed the Add-on bar was removed. Not hidden but completely removed! Thank you to the developers who have created the add-ons to get my features back to the way I want them.
Hi evilfantasy, There is also the classic theme restorer.
Thank you guigs2. I tried that but all I really needed was The Addon Bar (restored) add-on. The other changes I can live with.
