I created a web site which was set up with a password and I have forgotten it. When using the URL it requires authentication the field has dots so password must be stored somewhere in Firefox but where? Peter

You're welcome.

Firefox uses the same Password Manager to store all passwords, both for websites and (FTP) servers.

Note that websites remembering you and automatically log you on is stored in a cookie.

For some reason I thought it was saved in a different area than normal passwords.
