Problems using Barnes and Noble Nook with FireFox

I changed browsers from i.e9 to Firefox 8.0. Then my Nook for PC could not connect to the BN web site. I tried both of the above browsers and I get the following error message 

       Corrupted Content Error 
      The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because an error in the data transmission was detected.
        The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because an error in the data transmission was detected. Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

The url that appears in either browser when I get the error message is: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/eBooks/?SourceID=P001000007 Later I reselected i.e9 as my default browser and the Nook worked fine with it. What can I do to make FireFox compatible with Nook? Please advise.
