How do I disable the automatic update. I need to update when I am not using a certain external device

I work from home and access my works server remotely via a memory stick provided to me. The memory stick has v3.6.3 Firefox installed. If I have this installed at the time of an automatic update it appears to corrupt the Firefox version on my memory stick and it won't load
