I'm running Firefox 3.6.13 with Firefox as my default browser on an old compaq desktop with windows, I'm not sure about the condition of all updates with windows. When I download anything my status bar is fine and my download window is fine, but when I try to run the download things go badly, in other words they go nowhere. I try to by pass this by sending the downloads to another file or shortcut and then when I try to run them I get the message, This shortcut no longer refers to a valid website or file and this includes the start menu icons too. By now you know I'm very new to all this, sorry.
