It has been a nightmare the past week. www.pogo.com games are not working and java is installed. Something is wrong with java and I haven not been able to play any games for 8 days now. I am so sick and angry I can spit blood.

I am already emailing another tech support at www.liveperson.com and I can't get a definite answer. I need help badly. Is there anybody I can call to have this worked out????

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

See Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems and Troubleshoot issues with plugins like Flash or Java to fix common Firefox problems

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

  • Use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions.
  • Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

YES!! IT WORKS IN SAFE MODE YES YES YES!!!

BUT, WHEN YOU SAID GO TO SAFE MODE, I WENT TO TOOLS> ADD-ONS> THEMES AND THE DEFAULT THEME WAS ALREADY THERE. SO, I NEVER HAD TO SELECT IT BECAUSE IT WAS ALREADY THERE AND I COULDN'T SELECT THE DEFAULT THEME ANYWAYS, IT WAS GREYED OUT.

I AM GOING TO DO NEXT STEP, WHICH IS DISABLING ALL ADD-ONS IN SAFE MODE AND THEN HAVING TO TEST EACH AND EVERY EXTENSION.

ok I went and enabled all plug-ins first to make sure no plug-ins were causing the problem and all plugins worked. One extension was Adblock Plus 1.2.2. That was the one that blocked the images and blocked pogo.com games and java so I disabled it and uninstalled it. For right now, it solved the issue. Thank you thank you. I hope I don't have any more issues. I will keep you bookmarked because I may need you once again.

After spending a very frustrating week when Pogo updated and/or the new FireFox upgrade came out, Pogo finally suggested I revert to the earlier version of Firefox. Alas, all works fine now. I have not tried any of the suggestions yet posted here. Needless to say, I get requests to upgrade Firefox every few days and so far have declined. However, I would like to have the most updated version if I can get Pogo to work. If you are still having problems, I suggest you follow instructions to reinstall 3.6.10 - but you must uninstall the newer version. I will try the suggestions I just now see on Firefox and see if the upgrade works. Pogo was not particularly helpful in this.

If you are on a Mac, as I am, there is no "safe" mode.

I followed the suggestions, disabled my Adblock Plus, and now my Pogo works just fine. Thing is, I can't stand the Internet without Adblock. I've had it for years and miss it terribly, can't believe how many crappy ads it blocked! My MSN homepage looks crowded and way too busy with all that eye pollution.

Can someone please fix the compatibility prob?

I was having problems too. Try going to your control panel. Open Java. Under the general tab, go to temporary internet files and open settings. Click delete files. I learned that Java has a cache just like your internet browser. You have to clear the cache every once in awhile. My pogo games have been working great since.

@thehefferins You can disable Adblock Plus for only the pogo.com website and leave Adblock Plus active for the rest of the internet.

Look at my screenshot to see how: http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/9606/1disableadblockonpogo2.png

It was Add Block causing the problem in mine also.

For me, the minute I updated to 3.6.14 when I opened a game, the window would appear and either take a long time trying to connect then I get the oops something's not right page or it would happen a little faster. I had a copy of 3.6.13 so I reinstalled it. I WILL NOT update until this problem is fixed.

I'm having this problem too. This is from Pogo's help page:

QUESTION

When I try to start a game through Firefox, I get a plain white window instead of my game. What is going on?

ANSWER

Update: Mozilla has a documented bug filed for Java support in Firefox 3.6.14. Since many Pogo games run on Java technology, this is obviously impacting those Pogo customers who are attempting to play their games with the latest version of the browser.

Until Mozilla has addressed this issue, we recommend that you either use another browser, such as Internet Explorer or Chrome, to access your games, or to completely uninstall Firefox 3.6.14 and revert to the earlier version, Firefox 3.6.13, to play.

We have recently received several reports of certain Java based Pogo games, such as Word Whomp, not loading with Firefox version 3.6.14. We are aware of this issue and our engineers are working to resolve it.

In the meantime, you may want to try logging in to Pogo.com with another browser. You may also check back here for updates as new information becomes available.

How do you go back to the original Firefox format..wish I had never upgraded. What a mess.

Adblock Plus is most probably the culprit causing some of your games not to load properly. If you don't want to disable it completely, you can go to the game that's giving you trouble, enter contrl + shift + V and that should open a list of blocked applets on that page. The blocked ones are in red. I unblocked all the red ones since I wasn't sure which exact one was causing the problem. Anyway, Boggle loads like a charm now since I did that. Not sure if Adblock Plus has to be opened to do this or not, but I had it opened in another window. It is located under the Tools button. Hope this helps!!! I know how you feel, I was driving myself crazy trying to figure out the problem!!!  :)
