all of a sudden i bookmark sites and they are not there after i leave the site and try to use the boomark later. can't import from exploere either

I used to go up to bookmarks when I wanted to save a site and then it would be listed under bookmarks. Now when I go to bookmarks and say bookmark this site it doesn't bookmark it. I have tried to import my bookmarks from Explorer but that doesn't work either.
