Firefox distorts website on my Mac-text too large or too small,overiding.

Websites open with extremely large text with text over riding each other. Using plus or minus changed size but it is still distorted with portion of text and photos partially on top of each other. No problem using Safari but I have used Firefox for years and would like to keep it.
