Several websites are not loading, like YouTube and X.com

Several websites are not loading their content since yesterday. YouTube has a message "Try searching to get started" and even when I open a video, it won't play. X.com is not loading content in the pages. So far it's those two.

I am on the exact same OS as you. Firefox 115 (currently up to date).

In Troubleshoot mode, everything was okay, but as soon as I turned it off, YouTube videos aren't playing. Ditto content on Twitter. Gmail is lagging. I've cleared the cache and no joy.

After all the troubleshooting, I am still stuck here.

This is why a full browser screenshot is more useful. Sounds like an add-on is the issue, but we cannot see what you're running.

I realised it's my ad blocker that's bringing the grief. So I have to put up with annoying Google ads for the browser to work!

It appears so. They want the money . I'm running Adblocker Plus and Ghostery on my mac and youtube still works for me. What add-ons are you running?

I was using Ad Blocker Ultimate.

Looks like your add-on has not been updated recently. Last updated 4 months ago (Oct 2, 2025)
