Mozilla does not start under Windows 10 and Bitdefender

I am using Mozilla under Windows 10 in combiation with Bitdefender Anti-Virus-SW. Mozilla worked quite well with this combination. Since two day, I am not aware of any updates, I am not ablel to lauch Mozilla (no reaction). I deactived Bitdefender and tried also the protected mode for Mozilla (deactivating any add-ins). Unfortunately this had no impact. I could not find any helpful advice in forums. Prior de-installing and re-installing SW I am looking for additional hints.

It's possible Bitdefender or TB or both updated and created an incompatibility. To test, run Windows in safe mode, to bypass startup apps like Bitdefender. Deactivating BD might not be sufficient (or you could temporarily remove BD). If TB runs properly in Windows safe mode, the source of the problem is likely BD.
There have been no new Thunderbird versions for a couple weeks.
a) Always state your version number b) Try starting WIndows in Safe Mode. Then start Thunderbird in troubleshoot mode https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-mode-thunderbird
