You cant see the taskbar if these email programs that does give you a sign of incoming mail. What operating system do you use?

You have to search for

Settings> general>when new message arrives> Check these boxes that are to be there for :

1.show an alert 2.show a tray icon. 3.play a sound.

By the way , also check that box : When thunderbird is minimised move it to the tray.

Also see for your window system :

Window taskbar settings.

1.Open Windows open windows taskbar, select taskbar settings. 2.go to personalisation > taskbar. 3.under notification area > click select which icons appear on the taskbar> or choose turn system icons on or off. 4. Make sure that thunderbird is turned on and that his icon is set to show.

For mac :

1.Open thunderbird 2.Go to menu that three striped hamburger 3.Go to settings >General tab scroll down to incoming mails or use the search bar to find when new message arrive 4.Use the system notifications must be checked. There you can choose for optimize for further instructions for what has to appear there in that message.

Notifications on OS X are controlled in the OS system settings.

1.Configure thunderbird for system notifications :

1.open thunderbird. 2.click the menu > settings. 3.tab general 4.scroll down to incoming mails. 5. be sure the box next to show an alert is checked : show an alert. 6.you can choose for costumize for further. 7. Ensure the option to display an unread message icon on the taskbar/dock is also enabled within these settings if available in your current Thunderbird version.

2.configure mac os x system settings :

1.click on the apple menu choose for settings. 2. in the sidebar click for notifications. 3.on the right side in applications scroll down to thunderbird click on it. 4.next to the Allow notifications , toggle the switch to on. 5. Configure the other options to your preference, specifically. :

1.Alert style: Select Banners (temporary pop-ups) or Alerts (require dismissal).🎅 2.Enable the Badges option to show the number of unread emails directly on the Thunderbird icon in your Dock.

After these setting you will receive new alert message s , and the wanted message of incoming email notification is in that icon in the apple mac dock.
