Sender Account Autofill Function Disabling. How to Achieve It?
I'm looking for solution to make or prevent Thunderbird automatically filling up the "From" box.
In other words; I want the "From" section to be empty every single time for me to fill up. Just like I have to do with the "Subject" and "to" boxes.
I'm willing to hack Thunderbird if there's no an user friendly solution for this I want! Just please tell me what to do and I'll do!
Thank you in advance, Attila.

There are add-ons that help with sender selection: https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/identity-chooser/ https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/correct-identity/ https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/identity-selector/
You misunderstood me. I didn't need help in this, I need to do the sender selection by myself, without any automatisation. But, I managed to make this sort of happen with your suggested "Correct Identity". I created a fake account which doesn't work, and I've set '"Correct Identity" to use that as default. So, if I forgot to select the sender again, it will pop up a SMTP error message. This should do what I wanted. Thanks.

If you read the description of Identity Chooser, it explicitly states it doesn't include automation or defaults.
