How to install 2-factor authentication in FF without having to use a QR code ?

I would like to set up 2-factor authentication but the system DEMANDS I use a QR code. I am using a PC DESKTOP and followed instructions getting a code to my email, but when I tried to "install" the phone number , FF DEMANDED I use a QR code. This is a DESKTOP COMPUTER !!!!!!! not a phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How to install 2-factor but NOT use a QR code? Thank you !
