I'm locked out of my Coinbase account, because Mozilla is requiring me to use a USB device with Passkey, have no idea what that is, or why it's locking me out of my own Coinbase account.

Somehow, my sign-in on Coinbase is now asking for me to insert a USB device into my computer as a passkey, and that is there because of Mozilla Firefox. I tried a couple weeks ago to sign in, after my phone was broken, and in the process this new way of requiring me to have some USB device came about, now I cannot log into my Coinbase account, cannot buy or sell, do anything because Mozilla is requiring me to use a non-existent USB drive with a digital passkey. I cannot call and talk to Coinbase, and I have no idea how to reach Mozilla to cancel this either.

Hi Doug, did you sign in using your normal username and password, or did you click the new "Passkey" suggestion that Firefox sometimes shows as an option on certain sites? If you did not already set up a passkey for a site, please ignore that suggestion and just sign in normally.

If the site set a cookie in Firefox to expect/require a passkey, then try signing in using Microsoft Edge or another browser for now.

When you have time for further troubleshooting:

(1) Clear Firefox's Cache

See: How to clear the Firefox cache (only select Cached web content, don't clear all cookies and site data)

If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.

(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, click the lock icon at the left end of the address bar. After a moment, a "Clear Cookies and Site Data" button should appear at the bottom. Go ahead and click that. Firefox will ask you to confirm; go ahead and confirm.

Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
