When opening Firefox for the first time after turning system on for the day, Firefox has for some reason opening a separate window With this address: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/avg-online-security/?src=external-app-newtab-store I do use AVG as my anti-viral program but am not interested in using this add-on. I have looked in Firefox setting, and can see no way to stop it. Do you have any ideas, PLEASE? I will try to add a screenshot of the screen for you to view, if that helps!! THANK you!!

You can check that those pages aren't set as multiple homepages.

You can check the homepage setting in "Settings -> Home".

Firefox supports multiple homepages separated by '|' (pipe) symbols.

Yes, I have checked the Home settings, and anything else i could think of.. But still opens my Firefox home page and a second tab with the AVG-Add-on page, with address that implies it is from Mozilla.

1) Reboot 2) Login 3) Before running Firefox or any other app. I would verify that there are no strange processes running using these tools. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/process-explorer https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/autoruns

Also, where did you get Firefox from?
