Since latest update, 50% of my Toolbar is unusable! :(

I've attached an image of what's happening to me. Since last update, the toolbar is 50% allocated to blank space which cannot be used.

For example, I cannot drag to resize the search box across to the left side of the toolbar (which is where I like it), nor can any item be dragged or placed there.

I'm pondering (if I know how) installing an older version and preventing updates etc.

Is there another solution? Is anyone else seeing this?

Any tips would be hugely appreciated.

Cheers, Matt (Australia)

This was mentioned in the community discussion forum (quote) Firefox 110.0.1 will cause about a 500px wide gap at the left end of the Bookmarks Toolbar if the user has removed the "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" control. If you are testing, launch a new window to see the change.

The suggested workaround for this on Reddit (example) is:

(1) Return Bookmarks Toolbar Items to the bar (2) Delete any bookmarks (for some users, it might be only "Getting Started") (3) Right-click > uncheck "Show Other Bookmarks"

After that, Bookmarks Toolbar Items stays blank and works like a giant flexible space.

This will be fixed in a future Firefox release, currently version 112. Related bug report, if you want to follow it: Bug 1819980 110.0.1 misplaced icons in toolbars with no "Bookmark toolbar items"

Could a problem with the "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" that got placed on the Bookmarks Toolbar. You can check this via customize mode.

I wish it were that easy - I don't have the "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" on that toolbar. It's sitting in the lower panel in Customize, and not added to the toolbar at all.

Thanks, Matt.

Holy mother of God - this is brilliant - THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

I didn't have to delete anything. On first adding the "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" back to the toolbar via Customize, my initial test just worked.

Works upon re-opening FF, new window etc. Bloody wonderful!
