Tab sent from Android device to desktop does not appear

I can send a tab from my desktop (Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, Firefox 91.0.2 (64-bit)) to my Android phone Firefox, but when I send a tab to my desktop from Android, it says it was sent on my phone, but it doesn't appear on my desktop until I click Syncing... under my Firefox account tab. Is this how it is supposed to work? I expected to just see the tab appear.
