adding URL's to the taskbar in Windows 10

I am using Windows 10. In other major browsers adding URL's to the taskbar is a simple task. Why is it so difficult in Firefox? Adding them to the desktop is easy but not to the taskbar.

Yup, but unfortunately, Firefox doesn’t have an integrated way to pin shortcuts to the taskbar as Chrome does. However, If you want to leave feedback for Firefox developers, you can go to the Firefox Help menu and select Submit Feedback... or use this link. Your feedback gets collected at http://input.mozilla.org/, where a team of people read it and gather data about the most common issues.

Hi gpascott,

Unfortunately, Firefox doesn’t have an integrated way to pin shortcuts to the taskbar as Chrome does. However, there is a workaround.

Step 1: Right-click on your desktop and select New > Shortcut to open the Create Shortcut window.

Step 2: In the Target field, add -URL, followed by the website you want the pinned link to navigate to. For example, "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" https://support.mozilla.org/

Step 3: Enter a name for your shortcut and press OK. Then, right-click the shortcut and select Pin to Taskbar.

Thank you for responding Shashank.

I am aware of the workaround, but it is laborious compared to other popular browsers and is not permanent. The added shortcut remains on the taskbar even after being deleted from the desktop, but following certain Windows updates, the shortcuts disappear from the taskbar. I wouldn't mind having to do the workaround if I didn't have to keep redoing them. Other browsers make it so easy I don't understand why Mozilla hasn't offered a simpler permanent solution.

There is an option to pin from the taskbar It's not the best, but it's there for some of the Frequent sites. Just right click on the Firefox icon. see screenshot

My idea is so trivial compared to the thousands of other ideas being submitted, I will just put up with it or change to the Google browser, which I hate the thought of.

Thanks again for your input.

Does this method also work if you already have Firefox pinned to the Taskbar? I can't seem to pin a site to the Taskbar separately if Firefox is also pinned to the Taskbar, as the "Pin to Taskbar" option on the Desktop shortcut instead displays as "Unpin from Taskbar".
