My tab bar and menu bar background is white. I have the latest FF version and I hear it should be black but it isn't. It used to be but I may have changed something and lost it?

How do I make it black for ease of visibility - but not the web pages (just the upper bars). I have searched for hours and none of the answers either match what to do, or work.

Hi Dennis, There's a Firefox theme on the addons site called Photon Colors, which I found helps a lot.

Go to https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/photon-colors/ and click on Install Theme.

Hi

If you open the Firefox menu, select "Add-ons and Themes" and you will be able to choose from one of the other pre-installed themes or download a custom theme from the add-ons website.

I hope that this helps.

Thanks, but while it darkened the upper bars it also darkened other screens. Need to just return to the black background of the menu and tab bars. Not sure what I might have hit to change it. Isn't the default supposed to be a black background just for those bars?

Might a FF reinstall do it? (I've refreshed it, and also rebooted the computer.) And if so, how do I do that (and not lose bookmarks, history, etc.)?

Thanks again,

Dennis

It seems the problem lies in Version 89.0 and no solution exists in selecting a personalized theme to get back to the previous Version: Black background with white letters JUST for the Toolbar (without altering other screens) was a good basic theme. This is a screw-up by Firefox IMHO and it may be time to consider going to Chrome.
