</p><p>Unfortunately this did not resolve my issue as I don't want to have the window in full screen mode. This only served to toggle between both full screen and maximized.
</p><p>Although for some reason, just before you answered, I was able to magically solve my problem by resizing the window, closing down firefox and restarting it. (something I tried multiples times before)
</p><p>So thanks again for the help! I will mark this as solved for now as it seems to be working correctly! (Even if maximizing will still hide the window behind the dock, at least now, the resizing stays effective upon closing and restarting of the app, which is ultimately what I wanted)
